"For all the people who frown upon Nathan Drake's "violence" in Uncharted, well you're as good as gone since you are apparently against the idea of harming someone in self-defense"

That wasn't really the main problem.
Drake fights in self-defense, but his character behaves in a way that doesn't fit someone who's killed hundreds of 'people'.
The characters in TLOU, on the other hand, do behave a bit more realistic...

I've found Rockstar to make a lot of worthwhile DLC.
Bethesda as well.
BC2:Vietnam wasn't all that bad either.

I think the newer discs have a faster reading speed. So mandatory installs might not remain mandatory next-gen.

I still hope the option to install the game to the HardDrive is available as I'd rather spare the disc drive.

The article is kind of making an interesting point.
The copy with DRM gets cracked, and it's that version which got pirated/shared first... even though there was a DRM-free version.

The real problem with DRM is that in a lot of cases, the pirated version is easier to install/run than the legit version... so while it might prevent some people from pirating the game easily, it also prevents legit buyers from enjoying their rightly bought game.

Low FOV is a problem.
You might not find it to be an issue, but there are plenty of people that do suffer headaches because a low FOV combined with sitting close to TV/Monitor can cause nausea.
(There was a fair bit of complaints at Darkness2 because it was locked at a low FOV)

It's not exactly 'silly' to suffer from it.

APB was made by Realtime Worlds.
It was purchased by another company who then turned it into an F2P game.

EDGE usually gives games a low score. It isn't exactly a platform bias.
Besides, is them giving Starhawk a 7 going to change anything?

The other recent game, MaxPayne3, got a 7 too.

LA Noire wasn't really made by Rockstar (Team Bondi were the real developers), so technically, MaxPayne3 is the only game by RS after RDR.

... and even that is ignoring the fact that Rockstar has multiple studios.

I haven't gotten a chance to play MaxPayne3 yet, but it looks like they've improve a lot on the shooting mechanics, so hopefully that makes an appearence in GTAV.

It's understandable. The cinematics/game is indeed pretty close, and the game looks better in motion than in frozen screencap.

I think the only real noticeable difference is that lighting is softer in the cutscenes... but I don't think anyone's going to loose sleep because of the lighting on a character's face. =p

... Why are you using scaled down images as comparisons? O.o

Edit @LastOfUs below
Your images are in 1600x900 in the first link.
The second link has scaled-down images.
So that isn't real in-game footage either.

j-blaze picked unflattering photos, but at least his photos were in the native game resolution.

"Oh and a bunch of 360 gamers suddenly become PC gamers when it's a ps3 game."

The PC is just a platform that everyone tags along with when it's in their favour.
The hypocrisy itself is on both sides.

Same goes for gaming journalism and game awards.
They're considered a joke when they disagree with our own opinion, but they're proudly flaunted when they go in one's favour.

As for 'exclusive...

The installs don't bother me, but one thing I have particularly disliked is the patches that you have to download afterwards.

There's just something rage-inducing about having a game install and just as you're getting ready to play, you get hit by a patch that could take up to half an hour to download/install.

I wish Sony would let users download patches for games even if they don't already own them. Meaning, let me just download all of Starha...

^ Might not be so lucky. Both Sony and MS are corporations and their primarily goal is money.
If they think blocking used games will be more profitable, then they'll follow that course of action.

If there's one thing this generation has shown us, it's that respecting consumers isn't necessary to net big profits, and in a lot of cases, the more abusive publishers have ended up being more financially successful as well.

You'd have to...

Not really. It's just Pachter asking Tretton for his opinion on the subject of blocked used games. Tretton isn't speaking for Sony, it's just his view and he does say that ultimately it depends on what the Japanese decide.

Although it doesn't mean that if they do one they'll do the other, but it does put them in an odd position because of their online passes.

Online passes can be viewed as an 'anti-consumer' tactic, yet publishers still put them on games even when a developer doesn't want their game to have an online pass.

It should be worth mentioning that the comment is being narrated by Pachter. Untill either MS or Sony actually makes an official statemen...
