Considering it's CCP that's handling most of it, and that they have an existing fanbase with EVE, I'd figure Dust514 would get a bit more exposure.
Being a F2P also helps.
... and the people screaming arrogance would be puffing their chests.
Isn't really much to say about it.
... are you saying that these mods don't make the game better?
... Santa Monica?
LightBox were the main devs. SantaMonica just kinda helped along... but they have a hand in practically every PS3 exclusive to begin with.
... "anti-DRM"? I think he accidentally a word there.
I still agree with the overall sentiment of the author that the game should have an offline mode.
It still amazes me how developers still try to tackle the MMO market.
It's difficult enough to get in it as it is, even more so when you're an a new studio without any big name backing you up.
It's financial suicide.
Well, they also gave Amy a 9.2/10
Not sure if that can be used as a measuring stick.
^ That analogy isn't actually that bad.
However, it does have one fault. It is assumed that the girl is looking for 'a' partner. Meaning she will exclusively pick one partner, whereas in gaming, a game would generally be released for multiple platforms.
Timed exclusivity is essentially trying to convince the girl that she's better off just with you rather than being with the both of you (and even that is for a limited time).

1. Help development through monetary aid
2. Help development through technology resources
3. Help market the game (also requires monetary aid)
I don't see how only one of those can be labeled as a 'bribe' with the others just being business. They're buying exclusivity either ways you look at it, and all Tretton appears to be doing is trying to sugarcoat it.
Yea, a 5.5 is pretty much par for the course for Nihilistic.
... if only the DLC was discounted too.
In some cases such as RDR, it's just better to buy the entire digital game instead of the DLC-Pack itself.
Well, if you bought a Vita, you're likely to want to play an FPS that utilizes the two analog sticks.
So I don't really see reviews being a factor anyways considering there isn't exactly any competing product.
Regenerating Health has taken out most of the intensity in both FPS and TPS games.
In the past, every firefight mattered because your (virtual) life was on the line. There was a certain sense of achievement when you could take down a room full of baddies while inflicting minimal damage to yourself... and even the smallest encounter could screw you if you took too much damage.
(Yahtzee had a pretty good article about health regen)
With regenerating hea...
The controls being clunky is something that I can agree with... but Rockstar has some of the most human characters around. Being like-able is based on personal taste, but most of the characters were characterized pretty well.
RDR brought the wild west to life, and the GTA series has done a consistent job of creating a breathing world. I don't really see many devs topping them on those areas.
^ Neither GTA nor Assassins Creed have a comparably large numbers of NPCs that you can talk/interact with compared against TES/Fallout.
When you say there's no variety in items, what other game are you comparing it to? Certainly not GTA/AC I hope.
The sound cast is small compared to the number of NPCs, but their newer games have improved that. It's par for the course for an open-world game. (Skyrim has like 80 voice actors?)

Casual = Is played every now and then. Requires relatively little amount of attention. Most mobile games fall under this category.
Core = Require more 'seriousness' from the player. Average game session lasts longer than a casual game (it's arguable)... and you usually can't just pick it up half a month later and know exactly what's going on.
HardCore = Requires the player to be an elitist.
Liking one doesn't mean you ...
You do realize that your little summary describes most RPGs in general right?
Remove the part about 'rallying your team of characters', and you've described most action/adventure games.
Don't have to be a fan of portal to be a fan of Valve.
They also made L4D and TF2... and HalfLife2's episodes were this gen too.
... Did... Did you just list the same choices as the article? O.o
" Pathetic. "Bu-bu-but the game was SUPPOSED to be cheaper!" Well then why'd you buy it if price was an issue for you? Take responsibility for your own spending decisions."
... shouldn't the company take responsibility for their pricing error? O.o
Also, a lot of electronics (such as laptops, consoles, handhelds, etc) do have a price protection plan in stores (such as BestBuy) where they reimburse you if the product you bought drops...
