^ Games turn gold from pre-orders?
That's a new one.
... ArkhamAsylum and ArkhamCity have a two year gap. That is usually the amount of time developers take to make a sequel, even when pressured.
So, I'm not sure why you picked that example.
Bethesda isn't really known for milking their franchises either.
^ Eh, not really fanboyism.
The Killzone3 vibe is probably due to the environment and the symbol on the soldier resembling the Helghast.
Can probably throw in a Resistance vibe due to facial similarity.
There are also some similarities with StarWars, and Warhammer40k.
I actually don't see that much of a similarity with Halo.
I am probably the only one, but for some reason the image reminded me of the opening intro to Onim...
I haven't been able to get over the ending. I loved the visuals, animations, shooting mechanics, audio... but the ending just left an awful final impression.
There's some interesting perspectives on the game about how the game mechanics were purposely bad (that the game is trying to be not fun as a form of critique on the medium). Not sure if I buy that, but still interesting nonetheless.
In any case, I was expecting a generic shooter. Story was a complete surprise, even if the shooting remained generic, but I got a memorable experience from the game.
... what about SpecOps:TheLine?
Absolution's formula is pretty different from BloodMoney.
BloodMoney gives a lot of freedom to explore the environment freely.
In Absolution, almost everyone is suspicious, and you have to be stealthy if you want to explore. It is more stylish, but also more restrictive. You have to play it in a different mindset than BloodMoney.
You might be better off playing the older Hitman games (Contracts and SilentAssassin), since Absolution is kind of a mi...
... might as well credit quake, unreal, goldeneye or halo.
The recent splurge of competitive multiplayer is mostly due to CoD4 though.
Inhuman:
The animations are mostly a technical limitation. Although you've provided an amusing perspective on the situation (one that I hadn't thought of before), I don't think the developers intended the animations to be reflective of 47's perspective. Mainly because they were found in almost every game from that era.
Nor do I think that being a bred killer would change the way you perceive other people's motion. If anything, that kind of physical...
Not only is there those two games you mentioned, but EA's own BF3 is still in the running because of two upcoming DLCs.
It doesn't seem like the learned anything from MoH2010.
Right now, paying members just get a head-start towards unlocks, so it isn't that bid of a deal.
Later on however, I think the system is going to discourage new players.
Newcomers will be surrounded by higher ranked players who have superior equipment (not to mention familiarity with the game) and the only way the new player can have a fair chance would be grinding for a few hours or paying up.
Want to fight infantry? Well, almost everyone has bet...
DirectX9 started around 2002.
WinXp was released in 2001.
Both have now lost support in the past two years. That's not a bad stretch.
... are you still using WinXP?
Actually, the diversity is still there, it's just that a few military shooters make a disproportional amount of money.
That's more so an issue with consumers rather than developers.
"Imagine a game with the characterful nature of Skyrim, except set during the now or the near-future."
So, Fallout or Stalker?
Or maybe FarCry3, the 'Skyrim-with-guns'.
No, the journalists are getting paid by Sony. It's all a ploy to make people sympathize with Sony and buy Vita.
WAKE UP SHEEPLE.
... oh wait, it's Kotaku. I don't think anyone's paying them. Article like these just come naturally to them.
.... >>>>>> Desmond ?
^ That is a really awkward position to be in.
On one hand, Bethesda must suck if they can't even do proper QA on their games or get the DLC to work on PS3.
On the other hand, Bethesda must be awesome if people are genuinely upset that they can't give Bethesda more of their money by buying DLC. DLC which is likely to have Bethesda's trademark quality and which hasn't even gotten much critical praise either.
So this means that e...
At least they're committed to working on it rather than just giving up.
I'm not even sure why people are upset over the lack of DLC since I haven't found any of it to be all that appealing.
"The game can’t make up its mind. It promotes killing creatively on targets but killing guards (who you’ll sometimes find more practical to kill than sneak by) is apparently a bad thing."
This is what being an assassin is all about. You must be like a ghost which only strikes the target and leaves everything else unchanged.
It is more challenging that way. When you take the easy way out by just neutralizing a pesky guard and leaving their body in the open, t...
SaintsRow3 will have its own key, but you won't get individual keys for the other games.
So, suppose if you already own Metro, you won't get a spare copy of Metro on steam.
