^ What advantage do you get by having them standalone?
Aside from a slight performance boost by not having steam running (which is hardly any gain) there's not much to loose.
On the flip side, I believe steamwork games allow you to change your in-game name to whatever you want. So I don't have to worry about my desired name being taken... which also means you run into less people with names like xXxSn!p3rFTW1996xXx
>.<
I'm a PC gamers and all... but that was kinda unnecessary. =/
Uninspired... shallow games.
Yup, games like Amnesia, Stalker, Witcher and Civilization are pretty shallow indeed.
/s
Yup, the metro2033 bonus makes HF's small SP a smaller gripe.
I just don't know what to play first, Shogun or Homefront. =(
How does that ruin things again?
Maybe the guy had one one them camera beards and was secretly capturing the footage.
... Isn't Thief by the same group?
It's amazing how much the genre progressed with their games... and how not many developers have yet to take note of those ideas. =(
It's sad how that series is so forgotten.
=(
Need more FPS games that have humour that isn't just the typical dick-jokes variety ala Duke or Bulletstorm.
Hmm, what makes you think it's a CoD clone aside from the main character being a pair of hands and a gun?
If anything, it seems more like a Battlefield game due to vehicles and map sizes.
Or rather... it seems like Fuel of War. I wonder why.
... I don't think the PC version has a crack?
I've only heard about Consoles having a usable pirated version... maybe I'm wrong.
Forget game devs, even the pirates are abandoning PC gaming. =/
Twilight damages the image of women more than this does.
... that is, hardly at all.
@Coheno
... or maybe that's a clue that this just isn't a case about mere piracy.
It's been stated in the dev interviews that Kaos took a lot of inspiration from HalfLife's City17.
I found a/the source

It's not really getting that much hype.
It's just arousing a few eyebrows due to the storyline and 'emotional' set-pieces.
Judging by previews and videos like these, I'd say they got the emotion right, but the gameplay doesn't fit when the main character behaves like a super-soldier.
Although I find the titles amusing (especially the Civ5 one), I was a bit disappointed to not see Amnesia on the list.
Haven't run into most of those issues on the PC.
There were hitreg issues since launch which were patched sometime before Vietnam's release.
There was also a lot of useless recons. Nowadays I'm seeing motion sensors and recons with SMGs/Shotguns. There's a few that hang back, but they usually do a good job of taking out the opposing team's snipers.
UAV seems to get no love. I usually spawn and find a functional UAV with no-one usin...
God forbid someone wants anything to improve.
... You guys can turn anything into a conspiracy theory.
I just used SystemShock2's mod manager (and threw in a few visual mods)
Even after a decade, very few modern games can match what SystemShock2 achieved. Mostly because the monsters roam around freely instead of hiding in a closet waiting for their cue.
It's a two-way system though. Thanks to the OrangeBox, there's a lot of people that tried TF2... which eventually led to the big cashcow that buys anything and everything linked to pointless TF2 hats.
I know it works because I pre-ordered Shogun2 just for those damn items. =(
(Well, I actually played the demo and ended up liking it... but I probably would've waited for a steam sale if it weren't for those damn, pointless, items)
As for...
