I get where he's coming from - I mean FF7 was so amazing because it dropped you right into the action - but the beginning was the only part of Skyward Sword I really enjoyed just because of the story elements. After that, all attempts at story telling broke down and the game devolved into the most formulaic and linear Zelda to date. It was the same thing over and over again - go down to a sectioned off area, figure out how to get in the dungeon, complete the dungeon, return to the sky, re...

This is only because they still can't come close to keeping these things stocked. Anyone who thinks the PSVR is failing hadn't tried to buy one. I've been trying to get one for months. They sell out within 15 minutes of being posted on every website. They can't meet demand.

Exactly. If you think the PSVR is having problems, you haven't tried to buy one. They're almost impossible to find and sell out within 15 minutes after new stock is posted. That's not a system that's having problems.

This is exactly right, no matter what anyone else says. Anyone who doesn't think this is the case has not tried to get a PSVR. I've been trying for 2 months to get one now. I don't think people realize the demand for PSVR's right now. They sell out within 15 minutes every time any store gets them in stock. I'm on multiple stock alerts and get texts at 3 am telling me Amazon has restocked, only to find they are sold out by the time I can browse to Amazon on my phone. This i...

This is the exact opposite I think of what really happened. Every article that talks about the PSVR not meeting sales goals is moronic. How can it not meet their sales goals when every unit they put for sale is sold out within 15 minutes? I've been trying desperately to get a PSVR for 2 months now, including waking up at 3am to respond to in stock alerts, only to find out that it's out of stock by the time I can bring my phone to the website. Why would you pour a bunch of money into a...

Troubled? This article is moronic. They're not advertising because there's no stock to advertise. They sell every PSVR they put in the stores within 15 minutes. I've been trying to get one for 2 months now and I'm even on multiple stock alerts. On a sales front, PSVR is a raging success and this article is ridiculous. How can you do better than selling out 15 minutes after going in stock and why would you pour money into advertisements when there's nothing you can sell yet...

It's sold out EVERYWHERE. I've been trying to get one for 2 months straight.

Go try and buy a PSVR and then get back to me... I've been trying for 2 months. I'm even signed up for in stock alerts. It's nearly impossible to get one before it's out of stock again. They sell out immediately whenever they're online.

It's not hard to believe he's never heard of Zenimax. I bet most people that have played Skyrim have never even heard of Zenimax. If he's not a big gamer, why would he have heard of Zenimax?

Actually, I'd personally say it's the other way around. Square is a shadow of its former self when it comes to game design. I can't remember the last Square developed game that I thought was as good or well made as a Nintendo Exclusive. Maybe FFX? I think Nintendo gets a bad rap, but they're still making great games.

@OmnislashVer36 What gamer didn't have a Wii?

3314d ago 1 agree7 disagreeView comment

Have you tried it? I think most of the people who are saying what you're saying haven't really extensively tried it yet. Being somewhat skeptical before buying a headset, I'd say it's suffering from under-hype.

I've played a ton of PSVR and it's mind-blowing. The most amazing experience I've had in games in years. Other games seem meh afterwards. I went to see Rogue One in 3D IMAX this week and afterwards my wife and I looked at each other and bo...

Couldn't agree more. Bought it just on reputation and was astonished it got so much praise. The characters and story were so shallow and cliche it was painful. There wasn't a single character that was believable, memorable, or even not mildly annoying because of personality. The battle system, while fun at first, was also too button mashy. I played it for like 30 hours and gave up because nothing changed.

I've never been a fan of Tales games. The characters and stories are always SO trite, shallow, and cliche. I love the idea of the combat system, but they're too often just button mashers. I'm hoping this will be better because I could use a good RPG.

I might have said that before I got a PSVR. Now literally any game not in VR is boring and underwhelming. It's truly incredible.

This is such a stupid argument. Games have never been in a better position than now. They're a huge industry and only growing bigger. On top of that, DLC and poor quality games come from greed, not gamestop, and if gamestop ceased to exist tomorrow, NOTHING AT ALL WOULD CHANGE. Not only that, but if gamestop went away, there would still be a ton of places to buy used games and more would fill the void. I don't get this argument at all. Every industry has used sales, so does video game...

@Neonridr To be honest, I have an Xbox One, a PS4 Pro, and a Wii U, and I've enjoyed my Wii U more than the other two systems. I feel like there were a lot less games I was interested in on xbox/ps this gen than last, and every game I have for the Wii U is just plain fun and keep drawing me back - not something I can say for the games I've bought on other consoles.

While I normally agree with this sentiment, COME ON! The fact that there's a scantily clad woman in a video game doesn't bother me so much as the fact that it's just INCREDIBLY out of place. You go to a mechanic and she walks out in stripper clothing, bronzed and oiled? It just makes no sense. And not a single person in your party, which normally can't shut up, says a thing about this woman that walks out with her bra showing?

Doesn't it bother anyone el...

@zb1ftw777 as someone who's been a game developer, you're exactly right and I'm astounded everyone down voted you. Just ask any professional in the game industry and they'll tell you exactly what you just said. Why do you think studios give huge bonuses based on review scores to its employees. If reviews didn't matter, they wouldn't, but they know that reviews directly influence sales, and as we all know, sales director influence whether games get sequels... And yet pe...
