I really hope they don't just make another borderlands but instead add a hub with other players and pvp multiplayer like destiny. That would be my perfect game.
Destiny isn't even close to Halo. The story, single player, multiplayer, pretty much everything is better in Halo. Only thing better in destiny is the game format with loot and progression and all. I mean, I think destiny pvp wouldn't have half the players without loot rewards. Halo 5 mp blows it out of the water.
I don't think the people on n4g understand what "broad commercial appeal" means... This is one time Pachter actually could be right, but I expected this reaction from n4g.
I'll give you a clue. No one on n4g is included in that statement. Broad commercial appeal means that it appeals past the type of person that consumes gaming media to those dufuses that automatically buy CoD every year but have never read a gaming site in their life. That's the defin...
Actually, online only games are a lot cheaper to produce than single player campaigns with lots of motion capture, cut scenes, the need for constantly changing game mechanics to keep things interesting, etc. I'd argue though that gamers don't mind loot boxes in games like Overwatch that have regular free updates - that's not what we're talking about here. People understand that something is needed to keep games going as long as Overwatch with as much free content, story update...
Honestly, I think the well polished, better crafted game that comes after this one will kill CoD. The game mode has been nearly perfected in pubg, which is why it's so popular ( and why I play it all the time), but it's still extremely clunky, buggy, and poorly designed in many ways. All it will take is a well polished version by a huge publisher that copies the best parts of pubg to dethrone it.
I know everyone will downvote this because N4G hates the Switch for some reason, but I play more on my Switch than my Xbox One and PS4 Pro, and I haven't spent a single additional cent. Everyone has made way too big a deal over the stock controller, but it's just fine to play on and pretty decent, so I don't see a reason to upgrade to the pro controller unless you have money to burn. As for an SD card, who in the world doesn't have an SD card by now? I've got like 5 laying...
@superchiller Are you being serious or just trolling? That could be the dumbest thing I've ever heard anyone say on here.
Um... It's on the Switch.
Exactly. Even if the game were bug free and running like a well oiled machine, it still wouldn't be perfect.
The controls are atrocious compared to other games - it uses nearly every button on the keyboard when it doesn't need to. I mean, who's ever heard of using page up and page down to switch between players you're observing? And the default setup is just ridiculous and could be massively improved. (Ask me if you want to know my settings because they help...
The game in its current state is already a ton of fun. And it's just plain not true that there's no light at the end of the tunnel. The version on the test server right now runs literally twice as well performance-wise as the live version (other than occasional game crashes that are common on a test realm). In the live version I get like 30 to 60 fps. On the new version on the test realm I frequently get 120 fps, and the addition of things like vaulting and the new UI really polish th...
Kind of like real war I suppose.
Personally, I just don't get why n4g likes to bash on this game, like their edgy and it's cool to do. Most of them i think couldn't have even played more than a couple hours.
For example, they bash the story, but what Zelda game has ever been known for its story? For most, the story is just a tool to lead you between dungeons. It's almost nonexistent in most Zelda games. I thought this one at least had an intriguing world and the story bits that were there w...
Opinion: the creators of Respawn won't care as they laugh all the way to the bank... and probably use their money to open another studio... and get all their old employees to follow.
I don't know. I thought they put it all together better - like the way you could climb anything and get up high to identify interesting places to go and shrines and such.
All I'll say is I got sick of other open world games quickly, mostly because they either feel too formulaic or too stiff and contrived, but Zelda kept me going. It's the only open world game I've ever REALLY enjoyed.
I'm going to have to disagree with a lot of your points, ESPECIALLY that the AI is awful. The AI is freaking amazing in Zelda:BotW. The first time I fought one of those huge ogre monsters and he learned to cover his eye with his hand after I shot him in the eye a few times, I was like, "wHaT!?!?!" The smaller monsters also change their behavior when you pull out your bow or with how you approach them. Honestly, it has some of the best enemy UI I've seen in a game.

First off, I'd say the appeal is not just having retro games on a modern console but having retro games on a really nice handheld console. I would love to play some classic games while lying in bed.
Second, I'd say if you think there are no appeal to retro games if you weren't around to experience them originally and have nostalgia for them, I'd say that probably means you haven't played the right retro games. That's true for a lot of old games, but ...
@bumbleforce lol, the irony of you saying OTHER PEOPLE have fanboyism after that comment. Horizon and cuphead are great games, but if you take away the bias, Zelda:BotW and Mario Odyssey are looking like they have the edge.
Honestly, as long as the loot boxes only have cosmetic items, I kind of like having them in the game. I never buy them and the idiots that do buy them pay for better sequels or continued developer support for me. Just look at halo 5 for example.
Anyone know if this just supports sound or if the mic is also supported?
These always crack me up. I mean, if you were making that much, why would you be spending time posting spam on the internet? Makes me sad people are dumb enough to click on these.
