I don't quite understand this mentality, and it constantly surprises me when comments like this get up voted. I completely understand someone saying this game will never be completed and/or will fail miserably - that is a very real possibility. But anyone who says this is a "paid article" or a "scam" obviously has no idea how the industry works.

First of all, people have this odd idea that game companies secretly pay for previews and reviews all the...

Um, that's not how it works at all. As someone who has worked in the industry, they don't pay a dime for articles on any website, unless you count paying their employee to write and send out press releases occasionally. Marketing costs are more related to ads, which I don't see any of lately for Star Citizen. It's just a game that stirs up a lot of controversy and interest, so journalists naturally cover it a lot.

That's weird. Other than the stupid game crashes that still happen way too often, I almost never see any bugs in Apex. Compared to PUBG, which has been out significantly longer, this game is the pinnacle of well written code.

I know, right? This is the quality content I come here for!

Personally, I think this is one of the most gorgeous games I've seen in a long time and I want to play it just to see more of the art and detail. I guess this just isn't an art style for you. To each their own.

Seems like Final Fantasy is one of the most popular series of all time. Are you sure you're not the one that's lame?

That doesn't even make sense. There's a difference between being able to build anything and being legally allowed to build something. "build anything, possibilities are limitless" is referring to the fact that the engine is capable of building pretty much anything - but that doesn't mean you can't get in trouble for building something that infringes on someone's copyrights. You could still build it in the engine and the engine is still capable of doing it - you j...

That's really awesome, but why are they reviewing a game in limited early access? It hasn't even officially released yet and there's still tons of work to be done on the game. VR and multiplayer aren't even in the game yet. It seems okay because they gave it a 10, but what if they gave it a 5 while still in limited early access? Would that be okay?

I think you just labeled a whole bunch of people you know nothing about.

First of all, I think a lot of us think about why they do it. I personally think they do it because they feel that it can be more successful in today's market and get new players as an action game - which we think is incorrect.

You say the technology has advanced and you're right - which is why they could make an incredible turn based system as well.

Which ...

How ridiculous. This game is far from buggy. PUBG has been out for years and is still 10x's more buggy.

Because people are still contradicting and downvoting me for some reason, here's proof that things work the way you say in the U.S. too: https://copyrightalliance.o...

@rainslacker Again, everything you said is true, except that you're acting like what I said wasn't true or that I don't understand copyright for some reason because I didn't explain every detail on a video game forum? Nothing you said contradicts my statement.

I don't have to provide a book on copyright to explain that you're the copyright holder whether you've registered or not and that if you never registered you still have protections.

2579d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

@rainslacker Everything you said is accurate. However, it also doesn't contradict anything I said - it only provides more details. As long as you're not looking for statutory damages, which granted I'm pretty sure these guys are because they're money hungry, there is no problem with getting the copyright registered now and then suing. The case isn't lost because they didn't copyright it yet like the OP indicated. I also completely agree that I don't think there'...

And a bunch of idiots still attacked me and downvoted my posts. Amazing. The ignorance on this site has no end. Even when someone says they work with copyright law they still hang on to their ignorance and will actively fight the person with more knowledge on the subject.

I did not think people would question me see as how I have dealt with copyright law most of my career. This entire thread is pathetic and sad.

Very well, here's proof: https://copyrightalliance.o...

This is completely untrue and pretty sad that so many people are unfamiliar enough with the way copyright works that they are upvoting this. Applicable things are automatically copyrighted when you create them without you having to do a thing. If you wrote a poem on the back of your homework and then someone took it and published it without your permission, you could totally sue them and win because you were the author and the copyright holder of that poem. In fact, if you create a website, y...

It's the same in the U.S. too and all these idiots up voting and commenting on this are just ignorant of the law. It's hilarious, especially the ones acting like others are idiots for downvoting.

2581d ago 1 agree3 disagreeView comment

I'm sorry, I usually don't comment on things like this but the irony of your statement made me laugh, as it's quite clear you don't know how the law works. As someone who deals with this stuff as part of his job, you don't have to officially copyright something for it to be copyrighted. Just the act of you creating it makes it belong to you. If you write a book or create a website and someone copies it, you can still sue and win regardless if you officially copyrighted it....

Really? Other than the odd music choice, I thought the trailer was incredible. Amazing art and animation style and a neat concept we haven't seen before.
