Actually, Black Ops 1 had the best story of any FPS I've ever played. The twist at the end was literally mind blowing. I think it was too complex for some people though.
Actually, you're correct about the engine, but not dedicated servers. That's the reason they tell you, but they are lying to your face. They say that for PR reasons because if they told you the truth you'd be mad.
You see, the cost of servers scales with sales, meaning that CoD does have more players and would cost more, but that's because they sold a lot more copies and MADE a lot more money. The cost for servers for one person would be the same portion of t...
I'm sorry sofresh but its obvious you don't understand lag at all. First, what you said about rarely experiencing lag is blatantly untrue - you just apparently aren't aware of its effects. CoD tries to hide the lag by smoothing out frames. If there's skipping frames, that means you're lagging REALLY bad.
Instead, the lag is manifested by things like you losing one on one gun battles when on your screen you shot first, you getting killed after reaching ...
Yeah, someone needs to flag this article for a misleading title. There's nothing in the entire article that hasn't been clearly revealed and detailed for like 5 months now.
Ummm... I think we play Halo differently. Remind me to never go over to your house to play "games" ;)
I agree with everything you said except Black Ops 2. Please note I am still buying it and I am not one of those idiots that bash CoD religiously. I just think that Black Ops 2 will be the same as every other CoD in how they hype it, people think it will be different, and then they'll be shocked by how the same it is.
They'll be excited for all the changes only to find out they were all superficial, and the CORE gameplay plays EXACTLY the same. It looks the same, ...
This story title needs to be renamed. It's misleading. No where does Randy Pitchford say they have no plans to make Borderlands 3, only that they are not currently working on Borderlands 3, which makes sense. They JUST released Borderlands 2!
"When talking about the changes Black Ops II will make to the Call of Duty series, one member of the audience asked Vonderhaar 'what took you so long?'"
I'm still waiting.
Have you seen a single Halo 4 video? They've put the spark back in Halo and then some. Halo 4 looks like its putting innovation and cutting edge graphics and sound back in Halo.
Yeah, I have to disagree with some of the list too, particularly with Halo. Halo 4 IS a reinvention of the Halo franchise by a completely new developer. Not to mention, the new Tomb Raider game is also a complete reinvention.
I don't get the call to end series anyway. If the series is still around, obviously there are people who still enjoy it. No one is forced to play them. I think it's just people who never liked the games and are sick of hearing about them bec...
This. Lag and hit detection are really all I care about because unless they fix the very fundamental problems with the game, no other addition means jack. Sadly, the fact that they haven't even MENTIONED this horrible issue is a very bad sign.
I agree with you Dark Witness. Everyone keeps hoping they'll finally get it right - that holy grail of balance and fun. But I think we need to just accept that until they solve the lag issues, it will never be there.
Love your avatar :) The I.T. Crowd's one of my favorites. On topic, I as well have not been a fan since MW2, but with everyone I know buying it, I always end up getting it in the end just so I can play with my friends.
Hey, I loled. I especially liked the line about how Master Chief's normal tactics of jumping around while shooting at the same time instantly elevates him to the status of GODLIKE to all hostile alien races.
Taken for what it was - a humor piece with a sliver of truth - I thought it was an entertaining read and have no problems with it being on N4G.
Hah! You should have written the article! Well said and exactly what I was thinking, but after reading your post, there's no way I could have written it better, so instead I just gave you a bubble!
I wish they were stuck in the past. The past was when they actually made good games :P
It's funny, but the thing I am most excited about in this video is the ability to throw the ball! How many fun variants will that create, not to mention team gameplay to pass the ball right before you die!
3DO? The reason the 3DO failed was it was $600 at the same time as the SNES. Obviously not a problem Ouya has. The 3DO isn't even relevant. Just the fact that the author referenced it in this regards lowers his credibility.
I agree too. I think these types of articles are stupid. We don't know anything about the console at this point other than it has an awesome designer, a really killer idea, and a whole lot of interest. So any guesses about its success at this point are just ignorant conjecture. All they can really say is we don't know enough to say whether it will fail or not, so don't give them money! Well, they have a whole lot of money and interest for an awesome idea, so I'm going to ...
Haha! From the last paragraph in the article:
"Medal of Honor: Warfighter is already being well received and is a clear improvement over the 2010 reboot. Danger Close appears to have provided on all fronts, and I feel confident that this will be a breath of fresh air in the cluttered FPS space."
The game currently has a 47 on Metacritic, with the major complaint being it's stale, poorly put together, and completely lacks anything original
