Why does everyone think the Ouya is about ported cell phone games? Just because they both have Android at its base?
It's about excellent indie games. Games like Towerfall, Hidden in Plain Sight, and Fists of Awesome, none of which are available on cell phones and wouldn't work on cell phones. These aren't AAA graphics games, but they are a lot more fun than most of the junk put out today with the "AAA" label on it.
The Ouya is als...
If you think the only games that exist are Call of Duty and its clones, I guess you could say that. If you enjoy innovative and creative indie games, there are more games on Ouya at launch than any other system in history.
Your cell phone can play indie games, emulated games, and stream media on a large screen tv with a nice controller on the go?
Why are people so misled as to think this is a system for cell phone ports? The only similarity is it has Android as the core OS. This means there are some ports, especially at first, but NO ONE BOUGHT IT FOR CELL PHONE PORTS! Like I said - it's an excellent little console for indie games, retro gaming, media streaming, etc. Plus, if you're...
Wow, who pissed you off?
You are completely wrong about the Ouya.
1. Didn't get their Ouya... YET. And they are at this point a very small minority. They are all going to get their system but they're just being whiny about it. They haven't given a brand new, small company the slack they deserve over not being familiar with manufacturing and shipping problems. The only real problem is they suck at being transparent, but this again is because the...
You're talking about the software BEFORE THE SYSTEM WAS RELEASED! I get so fed up with people that aren't mature enough to understand what a beta test is. Everyone who got their Ouya before release was essentially beta testing it, and most of those things are fixed now. If your controller has problems, they will replace it. The release controllers work fine.
And laggy games on a console is ALWAYS the developer's fault. This happened because people ported thei...
To be honest, it wasn't all the DRM crap or the price difference that turned me away from xbox to ps next gen, it was this. The xbox 360 dashboard just got worse and worse and worse until it was nothing but ads being shoved down your throat. It's dumb enough that they charge for online play, but then to barrage me with ads?
No, to be honest, xbox's is just over the top. It's impossible to play a game without being barraged by ads of every sort. Sony's never had ads unless you went the the actual game store. After all the DRM crap, it was actually this that turned me off from xbox the most. I could see the direction they were going.
Ubisoft is proving that making new IP's is a good thing.
What people don't understand is it's about QUALITY new IPs and giving them the money and time to make it truly quality. So many new games never really have a chance to become a real IP because as an unproven game, they aren't given the resources or time to polish the game and make something special.
This. I think there are some industries that don't benefit much from marketing. Smaller indie games might, but AAA spending as much money on marketing as on development is idiotic. When was the last time you heard about a AAA game and decided to buy it because you saw an ad? It just plain doesn't work that way!
Games become big because of news coverage and word of mouth (thus why sequels sell so much more - they've had tons of word of mouth to establish the g...
Not really. MS acts like they won with all their games. The truth is, they had one stand out game that got 2/3rds of their awards. You take out that one game and Sony crushed them in nominations and wins.
TIMED exclusive.

It doesn't matter anyway. The MS article is misleading. It acts like they won across the board with all their games, but they really just had one stand out game (from the makers of CoD, big surprise). You take away that one game and Sony would have crushed them in nominee and winner numbers.
Hmmm... CoD is the only multiplat game that has more Xbox One fans... I wonder why?
His explanation doesn't even make sense and is almost insulting he thinks we'll buy it! The products he's taking about have no problem letting you play local content if you go offline and the media he's taking about is small or streamable! I'm not going to go away from my home console and download a flipping bluray sized game just to play it! But you know what I might do? Bring my disc! His answer doesn't even apply and there is no real excuse other than anti consumeri...
What an ignorant statement. A lot of these "fanboys", including myself and all my friends, were Xbox 360 owners but are now reluctantly switching to PS4. Only a true fanboy would still stand up for MS after the incredible amount of anti consumerist, draconian principles they are trying to push on us! We just don't want to support such an evil company and shame on anyone who defends them!
I mean even this guys explanation is offensive in that he basically insulti...
I think you and so many people miss the point of this console and why there are a lot of people excited about it. They get too stuck up on the android thing and think its just going to be a system of android phone ports. If that's true, you're right - it's dumb.
But what I and most people are excited about are the brand new indie games made specifically for a large screen and controller. This is THE indie game console. If you like indie games, than Ouya is exciti...
The core issue here isn't the score or even that he has a different opinion than most. Its that they chose someone to review the game that obviously doesn't even begin to understand Halo and its gameplay. It's the same reason people got upset at Ebert for saying games aren't art. Its obvious from Ebert's comments that he doesn't play games, doesn't understand why them, and is thus completely unqualified to make a comment on them. Likewise, Its obvious from this r...
Wow. Just wow. Anyone who complains about Halo not having iron sights should not be reviewing a halo game. It shows they don't understand the game nor its style of gameplay at all. Millions of people roll their eyes when they read that. He loses all credibility as a games journalist immediately with a paragraph like that.
In addition, its just plain stupid to say Halo 4 hasn't changed. There has not been an FPS sequel in years with this much change from its last numb...
Halo doesn't even have auto-aim. It has aim assist. There's a huge difference. Aim assist is in every console shooter. Now stop trolling Halo articles Parappa when you don't even know anything about the game.
My question is why? I mean, I'm going to eventually get a PS4 over an xbox, but what makes this so hot an item that they have to have one NOW? Did people not see the reviews of the launch games? What games are people even buying? No good exclusives are out and all the games being sold now are on both last gen consoles. I could get one for free for xmas, and I eventually will, but not being a fan of poorly reviewed, rehashed fps's and sports games, I'm holding off simply because th...
