If this game is going to be an MMO, then my interest in it just went out the door.
I'm more interested in seeing these extension like addons that they have been talking about. I wouldn't be wasting my money on any multi-player dlc if they did put one out. There are plenty of multi player games out there already and one of the things that I really like about Skyrim is that it is a single player game.
I agree. This is what I've been saying for the last several years, nice to see a developer say it.
I don't know if I'd go that far, but it certainly looks a bit better. I'll have to check it out when I'm at my gaming pc. (On my netbook at the moment.)
There will never be a single platform market. Anyone who thinks so is only fooling themselves. There is always going to be companies that feel they can put out a better product than the rest and there is always going to be people who want something different. Progress would have to stagnate, which I don't see happening as long as people want choice and companies want to make money. I can't tell if the writer of this article is an imbecile or just trying to gain hits, but after rea...
Though I'm very interest in the Wii U, the only game on that list that interest's me is Batman Arkham City, which I already have for the PS3, so I won't be getting it again.
I'm surprised how many people are running out and getting FFXIII-2 after complaining about being burned by the first game. I guess I really need to get around to trying the demo out so I can see what I think of it. Currently I'm pretty busy with Arkham City and Amalur to want to grab a new game at this time, but if it's good, I might put it on my 'to get' list.
Though I don't plan to buy a Vita right now, I personally hope it succeeds. The more successful game consoles out there means more competition between game developers which in turn means better games for everyone.
I would love to see Japanese games return to their former glory. In the past, Japanese developers have always walked their own path and their games were better for it.
Some of the real problems they face is the popularity of FPS in the west as well as big console vs handhelds. It is true that portable gaming is becoming more popular in Japane than big consoles, while in the west, big consoles and HD gaming is big business (no pun intended.) However it is not impossible t...
The Baldur's Gate games along with the first KOTOR are the three best games that Bioware ever did. The first Neverwinter Nights game is not bad but not as good as those three. Sadly I haven't played a Bioware game that I've really liked since KOTOR, it seems like they've been slowly going downhill every since then.
I've been really glad that the developers didn't ruin these great games by tacking multi-player on. I've seen quite a few single player games that were completely ruined, because the developers insisted on forcing multi-player on it, over the last few years. I'm really glad that the developers of these games were smart enough to not do this.
If Skyrim were a multi player game, it would just be another dime a dozen MMO. Those who are crying because it is no...
They are addicting, but I'm afraid I burned out on pure hack n slash dungeon crawls a long time ago. I've tried to get back into them with both Fate and Torchlight, but they just couldn't do it for me any more. The only hack n slash rpg I've really been able to get into this gen is Sacred II. That game however combines hack n slash with a huge open world, so it's not really a dungeon crawl.
I remember playing this game on my C64 when I was a kid in the late 80's. It was one of the first CRPGs I ever finished. A remake of this game could be really good if done right, but if they do to it what they did to Bard's Tale last gen, it'll be very disappointing.
True open world games are actually in the minority of games released these days. This guy should just shut up and go buy the kind of games he wants to play and leave those of use who enjoy a true open world experience alone.
I love LBP2, but I have no intention of paying again for a game I already have. It does however sound like a great deal for those who haven't already made the plunge but are thinking about it.
The golden era was definitely the 90's. Starting with the Sega Genesis, then the SNES, the PSX and ending with the Dreamcast. PC gaming during this time was pretty cool too. It's hard to describe that decade to gamers too young to have experienced it, but those who did know what I am talking about.
I really have to wonder about the age of anyone claiming this gen to be the golden age of video gaming
I'm not a big fan of Steam either but what sets them apart from Origin is their EULA, not game library or user base as some ignorants seem to think. When people do bother to compare EULAs, they'll see that Steam is the lesser of the two evils. Origin's DRM may or may not be intrusive, but their game client definitely is.
I really hope that it does come out. I'm a big fan of Team Ico's games and have been looking forward to this game every since it was first announced.
Ico was the game that convinced me to buy a PS2 back in the day. A year after the PS2 came out, a friend of mine received one and a copy of Ico for Christmas. He brought it over and showed it to me and as soon as the stores were open again, I did the 40 mile drive to town and bought my own PS2 and a copy of Ico. Sadly...
Is it just me, or does this article seem like a couple of fanboys fighting over which handheld they liked the best?
If I decide to get one of these systems it will be mainly for one reason, and that will be because of what games come out on it. Games that appeal to me is my first concern when getting a new system.
With a single player game, you play the protagonist and the game is tailored around your experience through the story. Because MMOs have to cater to many people, you can't really tell a story in a meaningful way. In an MMO, you're just another face in the crowd, not really what I want from my gaming experience.
