If any developers on Kickstarter plan to use only Origin to distribute their games, they need to be clear about this to their contributors as there are many people who will not want to help fund a game that requires them to use Origin to play.
That was my thought exactly, when I saw the headline. LOL
The Movies was the last game that I really liked that he did. I didn't like Fable 1, which I had for the original Xbox, so I have no one to blame but myself for when I decided to give him another chance and grabbed Fable 3 for the PC. What a terrible game. Unless he goes back to doing sims, which he was pretty decent at, I don't think I'll be buying any more of his games.
"Phegan: Technically, most games I own fit into the category because I use Steam. I would most likely purchase them again...."
What's he talking about? Steam doesn't require persistent online connection for single player games. You just need to be online for the install. I'm never connected to the internet when I play Skyrim.
I don't know, it seems we may be at point where graphics aren't going to make a huge jump without a huge price hike. Personally I'd rather see improvements in gameplay. Too many games have suffered this gen because developers spent too much time focusing on graphics and not enough on the other areas.
As for the Wii U, as long as it gets some games I want to play that I can not get for the systems I already own, I'll be buying one.
Well said.
It's both sad and funny that there are so many naive gamers out there supporting and defending the the always online DRM.
People, just because you like a game, doesn't mean you have to whole heartedly support the DRM it uses.
I'm very much looking forward to Torchlight 2 too.
The main reason I prefer Steam over Origin is that Origin's UELA is so much more invasive than Steam. Instead of trying to fix this, EA reworded the UELA to try to hide it. I personally don't think EA has any business snooping around on my PC and selling the info to advertising agencies.
Over the years Valve has shown a lot of respect for the PC gamer while EA considers gamers to be suckers.
I'm interested in this game, but I need to find out more about it before I'm ready to make the plunge. I would have preferred if they had made the game one player like Skyrim and Amalur, the pawn system really looks like it was tacked on as an after thought just to include multiplayer.
I've been burned too often by Japanese developers trying to copy western style gaming, so I want to see how this game is accepted as well before making any choices.
Being no lawyer, I'm kind of curious myself as to how a judge in the U.S. has any power over what happens in Germany.
There are a couple of games that I really like how they use Move. One is Infamous 2. When I play that game with the Move controller, it feels like I'm playing a PC game from my couch, it's really nice for someone like me who is a PC gamer first and a console gamer second.
I also like the way it is used in LBP 2. The Move only levels have some really neat ideas that really take advantage of the controller.
Another game I have been enjoy playing wit...
When ever DRM interferes with the gamers' enjoyment of a game, then the game deserves a bad review. It's a shame really because honest gamers who put their hard earned money into a game are not the ones who should be getting punished for the actions of criminals.
Those who are calling gamers who are unhappy with not being able to play a game they paid for immature are the real immature ones. Just because you can play when they can't doesn't mean they shoul...
Hopefully people who buy this game realize that when they buy a game that requires a constant online connection for single play that they are giving up their rights to play the game when ever they want to. The company has the rights to close down the severs and keep you from playing anytime the want for what ever reason.
This is getting kind of silly the way people are blaming every thing on used games. Regardless of where you stand about used games, they have nothing to do ruining single player games.
The main thing ruining single player games today are greedy publishers and developers. I have no trouble finding good single player games to play, as long as I do my homework before making a purchase.
They better hope so (for next gen consoles) after spending the last few years alienating their PC gamer fans.
I was really excited for this game, but now I am starting to wonder if it will ever see the light of day. I sure hope it does, but I'm not going to let my hopes get up for it unless I see something concrete.
I feel cheated if I don't get at least 30 hours out of any CRPG I buy. But then again I like to take my time and enjoy my games, but some people are in it because they enjoy speed runs.
Actually getting rid of used games will make things worse. First of all, many gamers will be less likely to take a chance on games they are less sure about, this will force developers to take even less of a chance, sticking with the same tired formats they know will sell well. Prices on games will go up and take longer to drop, just like they did after the destruction of used pc game market. Developers will be less likely to pull in as many new fans, as there are many who liked a used game...
Back when I heard it was going to require a continues online connection even for single play, I decided to save myself a headache and just wait for Torchlight II.
Personally I never pay a whole lot of attention to trophies. Though it is cool when I find myself unlocking a particularly hard trophy, I never play a game with that being my goal. But then again, I'm not a very competitive person, I tend to game for the personal pleasure of enjoying the game itself. I wouldn't miss trophies if they were gone, but I have no problem with them being there.
The Gamecube was a wonderful console with some really great games that I still play to this day. Unlike the Wii, it was mostly aimed at the core crowd, which chose to shun it for some reason. Those who did, though were the ones that missed out.
Even though I use a Wii to play my Gamecube games today, I still prefer the Gamcube version of Zelda Twilight Princess, which I consider to be superior of the two (and yes I have played both versions.) I also fondly remember Paper...
