Since Ubisoft started this DRM nonsense, I haven't bought one game from them, not for my PC or for my consoles. To tell you the truth, I haven't really missed them. Ubisoft makes ok games, but there's much better stuff out there for me to buy.
I just recently ordered Skyrim (got new copy for $40 in a bid on eBay,) so I'm planning to grab this and Skyboost. My system's a Q6700 with a Nvidia 460 so I ought to see a similar boost.
I game on a PS3 and a PC so after serious consideration, I decided to go with the PC version despite having to use Steam, since the PS3 version is so messed up. Once Bethesda fixes the PS3 version, I may grab that too as I don't always feel like gaming on my PC.
Many gamers enjoy gaming on both the pc and console. While every format has it's fair share of snobs, only a insecure fanboy would stereotype all gamers of a particular format as snobs because of their choice of gaming machine.
As for whats holdings games back, if anything, it's an issue far too complex to place the blame on one particular group. You really have to look at the market as a whole.
I'm sick of all these updates. It's one thing I hate about this generation of consoles. Can't comment on the Xbox since I don't currently have one, but Sony dishes these updates out way too often IMO.
I'm really looking forward to this game (Graces.) I really wish they were doing that remake of Abyss for one of the big consoles. I have the original one for the PS2, but the over-world plays terrible and the loading times are rather bad. I've often wondered if the game was originally being made for the Gamecube and then got ported to the PS2 late in development.
Actually all parents should teach their kids not to say their age online and to stay away from anyone polling.
I'd try Amazon, you can usually get books way below their cover prices there. As a retro gamer, I also love reading about gaming history. I might pick this one up. It would be nice to have all that information in one place.
They were probably planning to move it to the online stores a long time ago, but only now mentioned Naughty Dog's new IP to grab some free exposure for their title.
I fully agree with you there. Some of the funnest games I've played over the last few years were budget games where the developers had to depend on creative game-play to push their stuff, instead of graphics. This is one of the reasons why I think the Indy movement is so important to the core gamer.
I think that the poor economy may be starting to catch up with the gaming market. It's not just 'GAME's' prices, but the gaming market as a whole. If you compare it with movies, books, or music, video games appears to be the most expensive form home entertainment right now. And instead of giving the consumer a break in these hard times, the publishers want to raise the price of games. Bringing out a new console, especially an expensive one, seems to me, like a very risky v...
After reading this I'm really wondering what purpose the 3G model even serves. With those small data caps, I can't see much use in the 3G model for the gamer. Anything you can use it for could probably be done better with your cell phone.
You would think Sony would know better. If I get a Vita, I'm defiantly going with the wifi model.
Personally I didn't mind online passes until they started trespassing into the singer play realm. I was cool with the idea that second hand game players had to pay something too, to cover the costs of the online servers, but once they started using online passes on the single player games, this excuse of the publishers has gone out the window.
I usually don't buy my games used, but lately I have been tempted to do so as a way of fighting back against this unfair trea...
For some it might, but for me, anything that prevents me from relaxing in a comfortable chair while gaming will ruin the experience. When I want to get psychical, I prefer to head outside and do something real.
After playing the demo, I'm really excited for this game, but I wish people wouldn't compare it to that disaster known as 'Fable.'
Downloaded the demo to my PS3 yesterday and have to say that I really enjoyed it despite the bugs. After next payday, I'm going to pre-order it and that's saying something as I almost never pre-order.
I've been a Nintendo fan since the SNES, but with the way they have been treating American core gamers lately is beginning to annoy me. I do not grudge Europe this game, but if they are going to release it in English, I can see no reason to not release it in NA too. If they don't want to sell their games here, they shouldn't be selling their consoles here.
One of the things I hate about MNMOs is that unless you happen to join the game the minute it was launched, you're forever treated like a third rate citizen in the game's world, both by the developers and that other players. It's almost like a class system. It really ruins any desire to try any MMO that's been around longer than a month.
Personally, I have mixed feelings about this as I don't really feel that the way MS went about achieving those numbers last year was by any means that benefited me as a gamer. Though there are Xbox games that I would like to play, I've seen nothing Kinect related that even remotely interests me.
As much as I like Nintendo, there's a lesson to be learned about the way they have been doing things lately. By courting the causal crowd and pretty much neglecting the ...
Neat, but it's not really Skyrim running on a calculator, but a menu driven game with Elder Scroll features. Had he used his own names for the races and other things, he could have take credit for his own original game.
You're not. I don't like it either.
