It's still not enough to get me to want to install Origin on my computer. What I don't like is Origin's EULA which gives them rights to be snooping around my computer and selling the information to third parties. It's not that I have anything to hide on my PC, but a computer is a personal thing, like one's diary. Others have no business snooping around on it.
I wouldn't be surprised if the part about PC gamers buying BF3 for the consoles to avoid in...
I really like this game and have been hoping that it does well. I'd really like to see the developers strive. There's so few companies releasing CRPGs in NA and we could really use more. For a first game, this is really impressive and I hope that we'll get to see what they come up with down the line. Their biggest mistake in my opinion was tagging themselves with EA. Though I would have loved to be playing this on the PC, I ended up going with the PS3 version to avoid putting...
I've already decided to pass on the Vita due to it's high price of system, memory cards and games. I could certainly change my mind if I saw some games I had to have, but I've yet to see that for the Vita.
I've really been having a great time with this game. I respect the writer's right to his own opinion, but game journalists shouldn't assume that their opinion=the world's.
At least I know now that's it's not just my system. I noticed I couldn't get into the store earlier today. I really dislike Steam and wish I didn't have to deal with them. I tried to download the texture pack for Skyrim when it came out and the darn thing won't download and Steam won't let me run my game because it thinks it's updating the game. I have to resort to a work around just to get the game running. I'm going to be thinking long and hard before I ...
I really hope this is not true. Developers are really starting to understand the PS3 and are putting out some spectacular games on it. I'd like to enjoy it for a bit longer before they're sent back to base one.
I also don't think technology is at a point were next gen consoles could be much better than what we have now and still remain affordable for the average gamer.
I can't agree with this article more. Even though I do enjoy the occasional FPS, I've really hated the way the genre has been pushing out all the other genres this generation. Another big nuance is that gamers who play nothing but FPS seem to consider themselves core gamers and have the audacity to accuse gamers that enjoy other genres as not being core gamers. Not to mention their tendency to bash and ridicule any game that is not of their precious FPS genre.
It ...
I've been playing this game on my PS3 and Skyrim on my PC. I'm enjoying both games considerably and very much on the fence about which is better.
Those who are calling it generic really don't seem to know what makes a good RPG. While I wouldn't call either the perfect RPG, both are very decent games and both are much better than linear garbage like the Witcher and Two Worlds. Boy I hated the Witcher games, they were horrible and I didn't like Fable III...
Actually I said if available.
Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of digital distribution and I always buy retail when I can. My comment has nothing to do with the digital versus retail argument.
Unless boxed collections are released like PS2 game collections are for the PS3, the only way likely to play PSP games on the Vita will be by download. All I was saying is that if a game is a available to download, then Sony should not force gamers to re-buy a g...
I quit buying new games from Gamestop a while ago. I just don't like my games being opened prior to purchase. I guess these days with activation codes, online passes and all that crap, you never know when some less than honest store clerk might be tempted to jot down some of those codes. I have no desire to be branded a thief because I got sold a game with stolen codes.
What I don't understand is why Sony doesn't offer some kind of trade in policy (if the game is available)where if you send in your UMDs and they put the game on your PSN account. That alone would probably be a big sales booster.
"Used game sales hurt the bottom line of all console game developers, as the entirety of each sale goes to the retailer and not the game's makers..."
I personally don't believe used games hurt the industry at all. I buy most of my games new, but there times when I have bought a used game that I never would have touched at full price and ended up becoming a fan and thus buying the sequels new.
A lot of publishers can't see through their ...
I read the article, but what's being said there does not parallel my own experiences. However, I'm not a FPS fan so my online experiences has not been in that particular genre, which the writer seems to be mostly basing their research around.
All the systems have their fair share of online jerks. Personally I think it is a matter of luck and personal bias as to which one seems the worst to any particular gamer.
I've been a fan of the series since the first one came out. It's a real shame that this is for the PSP. If it were for the PS3 (or even the Wii or PS2) it would be a sure buy, even if there were to be no English version.
I don't use Origin on my PC, but I do have an EA account from back when I registered my copy of Burnout Paradise for my PS3. Recently I checked the account and found that it had been converted to an Origin account. I have to wonder how may of those 9.3M are actual Origin users or people who like me, had EA accounts prior to Origin?
Skyrim on my PC did an update earlier today so I'm guessing that was the update. Mine is at version 1.4.21.0, now. Can't say I've really noticed any improvements yet. The game ran fine, performance wise on my machine, but the issues I have are stuff like the game keeps switching me between running and walking and save files occasionally disappear. The speed switching problem remains, but I haven't played it enough yet to see if the save file issue is fixed yet.
I'm surprised that so many people are jumping on the Origin bandwagon. If I ever get on, it's not going to be until they refine it into something better. All this talk about Origin just beginning it's baby steps is BS. It's not like it was when Steam started. The technology has been around a while now and EA doesn't really have any excuse for Origin's state except incompetency.
I can't say I'm too thrilled about the price of the memory cards myself, but then again, I've got too many good games lined up to get for my PS3 and PC to want to get a new system any time soon.
In other words, I'm curious about the Vita, but in no hurry to pick one up.
Seems like it would be really stupid to drop such a recognized name.
If Sqaure-Enix is smart, they'll never make one. There is so much nostalgia mixed around this cult classic that a remake could never live up to the original.
For me, FFVII is not my favorite of the series, (it's either 6 or 9, never been able to quite decided,) but a lot of people started RPGing with FFVII so understandably it's their favorite of the series and people don't tend to be very lenient when their memories are messed with.
