Since Marvel has lost one hero in real life and another to the writers they have to start getting people ready for the next phase of characters. Games can smooth that road.

You have to upgrade because you often have compatibility issues with new parts. You'll most likely need a new psu. You could become CPU constrained or need faster ram. The things consoles will be able to do with their superior SSDs and the architecture that makes them run more smoothly will require upgrades. You're already going have to spend nearly a thousand just to upgrade. And if you have Intel you're probably going to need a new motherboard if you upgrade your CPU. PC is a mo...

I hope that madden deal is killing the NFL's revenue. They should never have been so greedy and offered exclusive deals. Now they're stuck with poor quality animations and glitches. Hopefully covid teaches the NFL that you never go full whore. Not even quarter whore.

The problem here is people are comparing the Unreal demo to what SX is doing. The Ureal demo uses uncompressed data and the PS5 has an advantage there. But SX can do the same thing but through compression and ML to get the same effects. The SX was designed with these tricks in mind while the PS5 was designed to be uncompressed. Ultimately the SX version might have some advantages while the PS5 will have some. But I don't think either will have a SSD advantage. They'll just be differen...

Probably. It won't have other features like as much ray tracing.

But for millions who don't have a $1,500 PC the SX is a great deal. Many PC experts are admitting the new consoles have specific features that make them better than PC currently is and it will cost far more money to upgrade to the standard than it would cost going with the closed system available in a console.

@Hakuoro
The OG Xbox hardware isn't compatible with SX. Neither is 360 hardware. So that's an excuse. Why can't Sony simply create a software solution like Microsoft did.

It doesn't need additional work from developers on all games. Microsoft has developed technologies that allow them to upgrade framerates and resolution. You can easily look it up.

The idea that last generation will hold back next gen is plain stupid. Just like with PC games will scale and we've already seen that because the SX Gears demo was running better than PC with additional effects. Plus people are pretending they haven't heard at least two developers say they aren't making a current gen version for Xbox exclusives. And last, the vast majority of titles will be multiplatform. Which means it would be holding back both consoles. People are latching on t...

But there are also a lot of games on SX that get better resolution and framerates even without developer's input. So SX will have a lot more games upgraded at launch that will require additional work for Sony.

You are way off. It's all the US mainstream media does. Much of what it reports is lies and propaganda. Look at the war in Iraq. In almost 20 years I've never heard one member of the MSM in America refer to American forces as invaders or terrorists. But the truth is that's exactly what they are. Iraq never attacked America. Never had weapons of mass destruction. We had no fly zones in Iraq before the full invasion. We had troops in Iraq before the invasion, I know one that was t...

If graphics were what he was talking about then nothing is changing. We need more AI and physics. 4k and 120 is as far as it needs to go in the first 5 or 6 years of this generation with the most effort made in using AI and physics to bring new experiences.

Dark-soul just because our government doesn't finance the MSM directly doesn't mean they aren't financing it. They basically do by only giving access or favorable access to people who push their agenda. And both parties push the the same agenda. Just look at the current situation with financial support to major corporations. After a decade of record profits most of our major corporations went into shock after only a couple of weeks of lower income. They supposedly went from being ...

You are looking at Microsoft gaming as a Japanese company or a standalone company. Microsoft has changed CEOs and its attitude towards gaming. Since Phil Spencer has turned things around and gaming has been consistently successful at making a profit and has contributed to the company with R&D and other ways Satya has come around and been more supportive. It also doesn't hurt that gaming has become the number one source of entertainment. Gaming is now an important part of Microsoft wit...

There is no reason this can't run on the Series X. If you believe it can't you haven't been paying attention to the technology RDNA 2 brings. Whenever you render something at speed like the flying sequence the blur effects allow all of the peripheral visuals to be downgraded in quality so the textures coming off the SSD aren't huge. Plus with technology like Direct ML and BCPACK the texture sizes can be smaller. This will run fine on either console.

The chances that Sony releases anything in the launch window that's visually next generation are slim and none. It takes time to really take advantage of the machines and Sony bumped their specs late so there's room for adjustments. Unless they have a shortage of 3rd party games they aren't going to rush anything out.

2226d ago 1 agree3 disagreeView comment

No, it's a lack of education and a need to be a douchey fanboy. The first year or so the vast majority of new games don't look very graphically different from the previous generation. Simply look at any series that had more than one release during a console generation. Each version gets more graphically impressive.

The next generation will show an immediate improvement in things like characters onscreen and physics. Things that they want to do last generation but co...
