Geniuses often have issues dealing with people that don't have their vision. It can be hard to believe that things that are obvious to them aren't just as obvious to you. It's actually a compliment to you and shows that they don't see themselves as special. Unfortunately, their vision IS special.

John Carmack has always innovated game technology. Carmack having access to a Microsoft R&D budget can be very bad for the competition. Plus Jim Keller is out there too. Phil get on both of those task.

Have you seen what a playstation expansion drive will cost? It will be well over $200. It is speed not currently on the market. Simply look at the cost of a top of the line generation 4 SSD right now. That's what playstation expansion will cost.

Yeah, Bethesda has to create quality. Has anyone seen any proof they can?

Gotta love it when people just regurgitate whatever they hear others say. Not realizing they are usually just mimicking sheep and shills.

It'll be years before we see those games.

Skyrim was released in 2011. We could see the next game in the next six months. We know they're working on it and they haven't given a release date. Plus they make a lot o...

It's obvious you have no clue how the business of gaming works. There are expenses in addition to the revenue. Making the games isn't free. Retail gets a share. Publishers get a share. The government gets a huge share. Most likely, barring special incentives, the gov gets a bigger share than anyone. 1/5th is gone to federal, state and local taxes. Packaging, game pressing, creating masters, paying staff, rent, utilities. Developers don't have a mommy and daddy. CoD makes huge p...

That's ridiculous. If Bethesda brings in 5 million new subscribers they are easily paying for the cost of the acquisition. Minecraft doubled its acquisition cost in revenue in two years. This will be no different. 5 million subscribers is almost a billion in revenue. They'll still sell on PC and other consoles for another billion. In 3 years the bill will be paid. And 5 million is a conservative estimate on new subscribers.

So now it's Microsoft's responsibility to eliminate poverty? Really? Maybe most gamers should donate $500 to end poverty instead of buying a PS5. Hmm.

Yes it is. Like it or not. Once again Microsoft leads the way.

15 million users is 2.7 billion a year in revenue. That's pre-Bethesda. That deal adds 5mil easy. Microsoft is using one bank to finance their applications for buying a console over time. When you have 100+ billion sitting around who you bank with means a lot to the bank. Depositing 2 billion in a small bank allows them to grow a ton. In a fiat system like our they can loan 9-10 dollars for every dollar on deposit. With a 2 billion deposit Microsoft can earn interest at a lower than norma...

Suddenly the idea of the exclusives is probably looking a lot less attractive. But hey. This is what Sony fans wanted. They poked a hibernating bear and now it's awake. This deal pushes game pass to 20 million subscribers. At that level that's 3 billion a year in revenue. Which buys exclusives. Sony thanks you , fanboys.

People always go to the extremes and completely overlook the average. There are hundreds of games released each year. Most of them don't make a profit. Sony has stated only 3 of 10 exclusive games make money with the three successful games covering the cost of the others. But what if you're a small or medium sized business? You don't have the ability to risk making a game unless you can guarantee profit. And you can't do that because a lot of good games fail. Gamers are going ...

I think they should have a pay system where AAA games go up to $70 until they reach a certain level of sales at which point the price drops to $60 and people who paid $70 get a credit for a future game. Games have been $60 for 15 years which is unrealistic. They are getting more expensive to make so prices have to go up.

People always look at everything from one angle. The cloud isn't going to be strictly about streaming games. It is going to be about enhancing games in real time. So he's wrong.

We'll see soon enough. But if Sony is in such a good position they are playing their cards like they are worried. So people can hide their heads in the sand and pretend everything is ok. But if I had a product that was more popular than the competition, cheaper to produce and just as powerful I'd release all of my information. Anything else sounds sketchy. Microsoft could easily beat them on price and take the losses. They can't match Sony in number of fanboys and despite the Inf...
