This isn't censorship. Playtonic isn't censoring JT they simply terminated their contract with him because he said offensive things that will show them in a bad light and would hurt their business if they continued to work for him.
Freedom of speech protects you from the government, there is no real freedom of speech in the private sector. If you go around saying dumb shit at work, you get fired. When you are contracted to work with a private company you have to behave in a professional manner because you represent that company for as long as the contract is valid. If you do anything to hurt the companies image or something that is against the companies beliefs then they can terminate their relationship with you any tim...
Companies don't really care about your views as long as you keep them to yourself. If you go around saying offensive shit about black people and Mexicans at work or in public, it reflects badly on the company and they will fire you.
I think the next report is in april
It is impressive when people are comparing to the wii, which was easily the highest selling home console of its gen.
I don't think this will be the new standard. The best thing that will come out of this is that the three console makers will be doing different things from each other. Nintendo will have their hybrid, sony will have their normal console, and microsoft will have this new windows 10 focused gaming product/service.
They think that freedom of speech means you can say whatever the fuck you want whenever you want without consequence.
People don't seem to understand what freedom of speech actually is.
He can't actually sue. He got fired because he said some racist, xenophobic shit on a public forum. Playtonic as a private company have the right to part ways with a contracted worker if their actions negatively effect them, or are not aligned with their beliefs, or their code of conduct.
This isn't pandering to sjw at all what are you talking about? Just because Bioware tolerated racist bullshit Playtonic should too? That makes no sense. Also most companies would have done the same thing. Bringing a negative light on a company through your own actions will get you fired 99% of the time. Hell you could be the president of the company and if you come out saying some dumb shit the board of directors will vote you out.
Like you said Playtonic does not want the public to view Jontrons opinion as there own. They have right to drop a contracted worker if they do or say something controversial that doesn't match their views as a company.
@andrewsquall
Actually if you are contracted to do voice acting for a company as long as that project is in the works, you do work for them and you should act in a professional manner.
The switch is completely portable. If you think portable means fitting in your pocket, then you should get out of the 90s because the definition of portable completely changed once tablets came out. Also the switch plays full console games and the vita plays portable versions of the console games, not the same exact game.
I see what you did there ; )
True. Zoink games the developer for Flipping death said that they were trying to get it running on the wiiu for months, but they couldn't get it to run properly so they gave up. When they got the Switch devkit it took them only 3 days to get the game up and running.
I expect this to happen with most of the games that were announced for the wiiu. Some devs that were working on wiiu games said Nintendo came to them and told them that they might as well give up wiiu port and gave them a switch dev kit.
@nitus
Afterbirth+ is the one with all the content. Rebirth is cheaper everywhere.
The games costs $36 everywhere why does the switch version need to be $15 cheaper?
The games costs $36 on steam. Why does the physical version for the switch have to cost less?
Shovel Knight was a kickstarter game and that game was great but it's always good to be skeptical about kickstarter games. Look how many games turned out to be complete garbage or a scam to get money.
