They refer to it as a remaster because the mainstream consumer is too dumb to differentiate the difference between remaster and remake so they just go with the term most people will call it anyways even though it's more than a remaster.

A remaster is refinement. Taking the base game and adding flourishes to it. Oh this PS3 game had high quality character models that still hold up at high resolutions today, but some inconsistent texture work across environments? Let'...

Read the comments and the developer said no ps4 pro support to keep the experience the same for all PS4 users. So they purposely held the game back for users of more premium hardware just so people with the weaker console wouldn't feel left out? Yeah, I'm not supporting this. If it was just a matter of they didn't have the time or resources to spend optimizing for it, but the fact that they did I it just to keep the experience the same for everyone is why I will never touch this g...

You won't guarantee the win. I know you're straight up lying because the bound system was adjusted so when bound occurs, the opponent bounces back instead of straight up, forcing a player to work more to extend a combo.

In addition to that, the game's combo damage scaling is extremely prominent. You're not likely to get a combo that does more than 50% damage because of how significantly damage is reduced with the damage scaling in place.

I...

From every single fighting game nut I know personally and from professional tournament players, SF 5 is actually looked down upon as a bad fighting game and being dumbed down significantly from early SF games just like MvC Infinite is dumbed down significantly from MvC 3. Starting with Street Fighter X Tekken, Capcom has been on a downward spiral of making each successive fighting game easier and more casual to the point that one day we will get a one button fighter with auto combos and no di...

If the pro can handle it with checkerboard 4K, I'm 100% certain the one X should be able to handle a native 4K image. I have it on ps4 and I've got a ps4 pro with a 4K tv and that is one of the better looking games to show off the image quality of maybe not 4K but any resolutions above 1080p

The combo damage scaling is heavily modified to the point that high damage combos are really difficult to get. Hell, even my own Katarina combo into a rage art only does 50% damage total when a raw rage art at low health does 50% damage. The damage scaling is very fair and leads to less one sided fights.
Also, bound moves are more uncommon and when bound does occur, instead of knocking you straight up it pushes you back further, meaning combos now emphasize dashing mid combo, making ...

I've only seen him in 2 matches online. He's pretty uncommon so it seems mostly "good" people play the game online. I've beaten my fair share of players online despite not having the best combos because I'm pretty okay at spacing and messing with a person's head using that spacing. Everyone I've played seems at least competent at the game aside from a small handful. I haven't encountered many people that simply know nothing unlike in other fighters like w...

The only fighter in this generation that truly encapsulates "accessible, but deep" is DOA 5 Last Round. It is incredibly fun and viable to press buttons and pull off cool stuff and look like you know what you're talking about, but it's also got a high skill ceiling with mechanics like the stun system and the typical fighting game thing of punishing, certain moves having different properties on counter hit, the importance of movement/spacing as well as other DOA specific stuf...

I feel like mainstream game journalists use the accessible, but deep phrase to describe basically every fighting game to sound like they know what they're talking about when they usually are very inexperienced and very little knowledge of fighting games on the level that they would know what wave dashing is or something like that.

The reason it doesn't feel the same is because Tekken is Tekken. It's always been a mechanically deep franchise and now with the adjustments to the bound system and the addition of power crushes, rage art school and rage drive, there's more to learn. He enjoyed Tekken more back then because he was young and could have fun button mashing.

Tekken 7 does not cater to casual gamers that don't want to put in the effort to get good so if you have no interest in le...

Take a look at this and take a look at ratchet and clank which is leagues above this visually running at 30fps, but with checkerboard rendering utilizing a starting resolution of around 3200x1800; a monumental increase in resolution over 1440p. This collection should have been capable of 60fps on BOTH ps4 and ps4 pro. It doesn't look that good, but if it's going to be stuck at 30fps on the pro, they can sure as hell go further than 1440p unless they push the assets above the base cons...

I think as far as core fighting is concerned, Tekken 7 is a much better fighting game. The issue plaguing injustice 2 is the same issue plaguing every netherrealm fighter. The game's feel a little "chunky" and it's not necessarily because that's just the fighting engine and how it plays.

It's a fundamental flaw within the core animation set of NR games. Injustice 2 has the best facial animations in a fighting game bar none, but the actual fighting ...

That's awful. Tekken 7 doesn't even look that good. Should be capable of 1080p on standard ps4 and a much higher resolution on ps4 pro

I wonder what the actual final rendering resolution will be on all console versions of the game. I don't expect Tekken 7 to be native 4K on ps4 pro, but I do expect it to run higher than 1440p

Now that it finally has a pro patch and one that's not just a basic resolution bump when the base game's visuals on console were nothing to write home about, now I can start looking at prices for it. I honestly did not expect them to enable screen space reflections and stuff like higher shadows considering how late this patch is. Expected a basic 1440p bump with all the original console assets and effects.

Killing Floor 2 is a good time waster. It's also one of the best implementations of ps4 pro support to date with 3200x1800 native resolution using checkerboard rendering to achieve 4K output, higher average framerate than the base model, and higher quality textures across the board that match the PC version's max setting with the base model's texture quality being one notch below max

It's probably due to the more rigid way combos work in comparisons to a lot of other fighters that have dozens of pre-set combos so you can kind of wing it. Injustice has a small amount of combos per character and that's about all you can do. It's very limited to the casual player unless you know how to take advantage of meter burn and cancels to extend combos.

Also, you can meter burn while being hit by a combo with 2 bars of the meter to initiate a clash. In a...

Mankind Divided was a good game and leagues above what most mainstream developers and publishers offer in terms of level design and player choice. The problem with it is that is was cut short. It felt like there was a grander plan for Mankind Divided and that plan was cut by square Enix that wanted to cut divided into two separate games, leaving us with a technically unfinished game, but the content that existed there was of a very high quality.
