Called the lack of switch third party support long go. It's a repeat of the WiiU situation in which the hardware is too underpowered compared to the competition that devs don't want to put in the effort to downgrade or make compromises to their games to make them work on such weak hardware. As the gen drags on the next 2-3 years and engines become more advanced and devs push for more in games, we'll see even less third party support on switch.

I'm glad BC didn't exist on ps4 this gen because the significantly improved graphics and framerate for the last of us and the uncharted trilogy made the games that much better. The ps4 versions are the definitive ways to play the game and the PS4 pro version of the last of us after that patch is magnificent 👌🏿👌 27999;👌🏿

If we were just stuck with the same 720p 30fps with framerate issues in the last of us, I'd be pretty...

@the people replying to me being offended, the only actual native 4K current gen games are the sports games. NBA, FIFA, PES, etc...anything else utilizing actual modern tech and rendering features is not capable of rendering native 4K on the ps4 pro. There are technically current gen games that run native 4K like thumper, but that's clearly a much more simplistic game to render than a game like Rise of The Tomb Raider. Anything built for current get that is native 4K is either a simple 2D...

It's a current generation game running on a current generation engine. The fact that it can run it at a native 4K resolution is impressive when you consider the only competition it has, the ps4 pro can not do native 4K for current gen games and engines. Only for last gen games and engines.

Looks like this will be a future proof game that people won't be able to play at native 4K maxed out for years. Probably the closest we'll ever get to another "but can it run crysis?" moment again

The second the first public demo with episode duscae was given to us all and we saw how bad the image quality and performance was and how much worse the image quality and performance was with that other platinum demo tech thing, I KNEW the game was too ambitious for consoles and that a PC version would come eventually.

I played on ps4 pro on a 4K tv and visually was unimpressed because of the image quality. Despite a native 3200x1800 using checkerboard rendering to achieve ...

Console games typically either don't have anisotropic filtering at all or they have a level that falls somewhere between a 2 and 4x. 8x and 16x AF is typically reserved for remasters of games on significantly lesser hardware or in this case, a mid-gen console refresh. To my knowledge, I don't think there's a single ps4 title that's using a current generation engine or that isn't a port of an older game that has 16x AF.

It's close enough that you can basically call it a 1440p image, but to claim "native" 1440p is just incorrect information. Regardless of how close the actual resolution is to the naked eye compared to native 1440p, claiming a "native" 1440p resolution when it isn't is just misinformation and makes me question the other enhancements the article claims such as the native 4K claim for Sine More EX. If they were wrong about lawbreakers, they can be wrong about that too...

I don't know how much to trust this article as they claim a native 1440p on lawbreakers for ps4 pro. It actually renders at 2496x1404. Native 1440p is 2560x1440

Cliffy B may say some crap and this game may not have the most amount of active daily players, but I still never have to wait long to find matches and I love this game. It is my favorite multiplayer shooter of the generation. The skill based movement along with the gravity gimmick is unmatched by any current generation title

Big difference. As noticeable as the jump from 720p to 1080p on a 1080p screen.

I played it in the 4K mode. The dynamic resolution that hits a high of 1440p looks better on a 4K screen that Hellblade's 60fps 900p would look on a 1080p display, especially when you start getting into tv's above 40 inches and you sit closer than 15 feet from them.

The combat in Hellblade was not very complex and it had very little depth compared to other action games like even Ninja Theory's own dmc reboot. The game was also easy and as result, I preferred the...

It's not free to play garbage. It's a quality multiplayer title that fans of skill based movement in multiplayer shooters will love. All future characters and maps will be free. The only dlc or microtransactions are cosmetics. It is far from free to play garbage that's been suddenly charged $30 for. It is a worthy $30 game.

I personally think critics mistook the point of the open world in Mafia 2 which is what lead the disaster that was Mafia 3's formulaic and repetitive open world structure. The point of an open world within Mafia 2 wasn't to have this world to do tons of side things in.

It was a setting. A place. An attempt at providing context for the game's setting. The game's narrative felt much more connected than it would have if it were a typical narrative driven exper...

You must not have been playing games very long to not know when the game relinquished control back to the player. I beat it this morning and it was very very clear every time I was in control. The game NEVER has any combat or action in cutscenes. The most it does is show you get knocked down ONCE at the beginning of the fight and then the camera pulls back as you stand up, making it very clear you are back in control unless you have no experience with video games. That's the kind of thing...

It's real. There is an actual contextual reason within the game for the whole pervades the system if you die too many times. It's not something I want to explain if you haven't played it yet, but early on in the game something happens which is the point at which the game will start tallying your deaths. It has an actual purpose within the game world so I'm 100% on board with it as this is a narrative driven experience and context is everything.

The game is clearly low budget and I've been playing it and it's actually pretty mediocre, but don't act just like a game isn't the best game in the world that under $20 is too much. That's just being stupid. There are significantly worse games out there.

The minimum requirements state a GPU of a gtx 770. The standard ps4 has something along the lines of a 750ti. If just the MINIMUM requirements are a GPU that on PC outputs over twice the performance in benchmarks, then I can only imagine what the recommended specs are and what you would need to run 4K at 60fps
