@PFFT. The game runs worse on Xbox One X than ps4 pro. Both NX Gamer and Digital Foundry have shown that in their framerate tests. I own it on Xbox One X and the framerate definitely feels choppy at points. It’s not unplayable, but I can definitely tell when it dips below its 30fps target on the One X. Still, I chose this version for the higher resolution over the pro version with its more consistent framerate, but weak as heck sub-1440p resolution
That’s actually not true. The Evil Within 2 on the Xbox One X performs worse than it should on a 1080p set because its always super sampling on a system wide level and the end result is when comparing The Evil Within 2 on a 1080p set on pro and the one X, the game runs better on the pro
I mean it’s pretty obvious it would. Playing on a 1080p screen and only rendering a 1080p image versus internally rendering at a higher resolution will take up more system resources.
No, that’s not what supersampling does. Mirror’s Edge never got a pro patch so it is a 900p game no matter what ps4 system you play it on. What super sampling does is IF an ACTUAL support ps4 pro title render at 1620p for example and that resolution was the only pro support, only 4K tv owners would benefit from that.
Pro owners on a 1080p display would still be rendering the game at 1080p, effectively making it a non-pro title unless the developer implemented the super samp...
I can tell the difference with framerate, but I just prefer better graphics and resolution over framerate except for very specific games. Wolfenstein 2 for example I opted for the dynamic resolution on the Xbox One X to maintain the 60 Target more closely versus the resolution lock at what felt like 30 frames per second.
However, in a game like the last of us, I played that in the 30 FPS mode at native 4K with the higher quality shadows over the 60 FPS mode because last of ...
There are also some odd omissions like Prey which got pro support, but Bethesda as a publisher has announced no plans or desires to enhance Prey for the Xbox One X. Because of that lack of support, I bought Prey on ps4 and while it looks okay, with a decent boost to visual settings, it’s still only 1080p on pro and I would love to see those same boosted visual settings running at a higher resolution, but oh well.
No, I’d definitely call halo a remake. Every asset was touched and rebuilt.
It wouldn’t, especially if you have all the gamesworks features active
Completely remade assets in every single instance with no stone unturned don’t count as a remake??? Okay, guy. You clearly aren’t in the business of reviewing games professionally if you believe this is a simple remaster.
Player choice is part of Mass Effect so...how did he ruin anything
He seemed to really mainly harp on the framerate, which the PS3 version already did. I think up until now, obviously the PS3 had version has been the definitive way to play Shadow of The Colossus since its release and while the original ps2 version is a technical achievement and only exists because of the tenacity of the team, the trade-off was poor performance which makes it not so pleasant to play in this day and age, but that was already smoothed out on PS3 years ago so I don’t see the poi...
In basic speak, the ps4 pro has specific hardware features that make checkerboard rendering simpler to implement than on Xbox One X and while the One X would be able to handle the same CB resolution with more performance to spare, the developer would have to put in more time and effort to make CB happen on the One X.
It will have better graphics. The original pc version is a straight console port. We already know for a fact that this remaster will have “2k” textures on pc, so higher quality texture work than any existing version of it has. And who knows what else they’ll do to it
By upscaled 4k, I’m almost certain anyone could safely assume they mean the game runs at a higher than 1080p resolution that then gets upscaled to 4K. They do not mean it’s just the base console resolution upscaled to 4K which as you said, not systems already do automatically.
I had a PS3, but never got the collection on ps3 so also for people like me. I like the ps4 controller better too so win-win. Though I’m still disappointed they won’t add 4K support for this game on ps4 pro and Xbox One X even though Okami got 4K support on both consoles
.....it was already remastered for PS4 and Xbox One years ago
I hope Spec-Ops: The Line gets the 4K enhancement like some of the backwards compatible titles have. I love that game.
