It’s only 1440p in the resolution mode on pro with no other visual settings boosted.
Alright, guy. When you work a job and go to school and have time you need to dedicate to family and friends and significant other all while constantly buying new games every other week, come back and tell me how realistic it is to beat every single game that you want.
Guess what. I bought Valkyrie Chronicles on PS3 when it was new like what? 9 years ago? 10 years ago? And I never got far in it. Then I put it off and started it from scratch again years later and got further...
Yes. Because every person ever has played every single ps1 game they ever wanted to play. My guy. Games are long and they cost money and there’s only so much time in the day with friends and life commitments. Unless you only play 1 genre, you’re not going to beat every single game ever that you have bought or played.
You know how satisfying combat will feel without the controller being in your hand? Damn, give me some of the clairvoyance.
@commentator, I was just playing Doom 3 BFG on Xbox One X the other day and let me tell you, after the crystal clarity of Skate 3 which was X enhanced, I COULD EASILY tell I was dealing with a sub 1080p image with Doom 3. It’s got soft image quality and doesn’t look great despite its relatively low quality assets which you might think wouldn’t benefit from high resolutions, but I guarantee it would. There’s only so much upscaling can do. It looks meh.
Edit: wait, I’m readin...
I own both a PS4 pro and an Xbox One X and well, star ocean got a proper remaster on pc and ps4 with visual settings that can even be tweaked on the console version so i’d Rather just play star ocean on a PS4 Pro(which has native 4K as one of the delectable resolutions) than a backwards compatible 4K version.
Ps2 has the largest library of games of its generation. People definitely bought it for its games. Buying it for its DVD player was only something that held weight in the first year or two of its launch when DVD players were still new and expensive, especially in japan.
But past that, it was ALL ABOUT the games
Gears of War 2 is on the list and not an artistic masterpiece like Hellblade or Nier: Automata?
Tell that to the 120+ physical ps4 games I own. Did you forget this crazy concept that physical games get the same updates as the digital versions? Blasphemy. I know, right.
Playing with headphones was terrifying. I could play Resident Evil 7 at night with the lights out and headphones just fine, but being alone in the DAY TIME with hellblade would freak me out due to its sound design. Dear lord
He’s saying that the gaming industry as an artistic medium has so far outstripped film by this point that to lump a game with a mainstream film awards show would essentially be degrading to games considering how much more effective gaming is at eliciting emotional responses from the consumer.
@theXtReMe1
Rendering resolution is a part of the game’s visuals.
I think it’s meant to compare how much the visuals had to be downgraded to make it jump to 60fps.
Also I did some digging, and Kingdom Come actually began development in 2012. The studio spent over a year making a working prototype so that they could then use that prototype to pitch to investors and to have something to show for when announcing the Kickstarter in 2014.
Homefront the revolution on the other hand, did not begin development until sometime around mid-late 2013 or maybe early 2014 at the latest. So they already started development on a more recent iteration ...
I played Estival Versus. Mediocre gameplay, but has very high quality presentation as far as the amount of content and how in depth character backstories and motivations are for a “low brow low budget” Japanese game. The gameplay is incredibly basic, though. The only combos are square a bunch of times or square and then triangle once after square 2 times, or square 3 times, etc...
Different iterations of the CryEngine. A slightly older version that doesn’t support HDR if I’m remembering currently.
And statements like this are why people don’t take mainstream gaming media seriously
EA’s official Facebook page posted a trailer for burnout remaster with a release date so stop being skeptical
There are several Xbox One X games that have a higher resolution, better framerate, AND improved assets and effects like texture quality and lighting.
I definitely can. The character model was detailed and it had nice effects work, but environment textures are really inconsistent. The game also at least on console has soft image quality due to excessive post processing. The resolution mode on ps4 pro, where I played it, looks really soft.
