how this is news worthy.
On simple mathematics?
1200*52 = 62400. 62400*15 = 936,000
That's what he may have been insinuating but in doing made a valid point. Due to the huge corporate pressures game developers, unless first party, are forced to get "Whizbang 2009 product" out the door before the competition in order to maximize profit. The Xbox 360 having a nearly identical architecture to a standard x86 based PC is usually but not rightfully the lead platform in development. What this causes in most cases is a pretty good XBox 360 game and a good but not as goo...
They may have been "top of their class" but when in the real world they become lazy. Simply put, Company X hires devs to make a game for the XBox 360/PS3. The devs, most of which have experience with nothing but C, C+, C#, and VB of some sort and are generally trained on Microsoft products on x86 based PCs. Microsoft supplies familiar DirectX tools for the XBox 360 where the devs can just grab chunks of code and plug it in with some modifications to get exactly what they want. N...

" Just like how the 360 is murdering the PS3 despite the 1 million lead it has."
Yes if it continues to murder the PS3 like this every week it will take the XBox 360 approx. 15 years to have made up the 1.4 million unit gap. Now that there is murder I tell ya!
On a console would make me a VERY VERY happy gamer.
freaking delusional. I have never seen, nor read, a longer more boring diatribe in my life. The least he could have done was make it interesting. How this nonsense gets submitted as news is beyond me.
Sheesh... that just plain ole sucks. Haven't had that forced on me since I was a kid, now I do it to mine! <evil grin> But I would have to choose Resistance 2. LBP would have been choice one if R2 was not a factor though. But thankfully I won't be forced into making that decision cause I have a BIG list this Cristmas. Between PS3/Wii the family will have more games than they can shake a stick at! Great time to be a gamer!
fails hard! But the picture is made of pure win!
It's a game and that's all it is. Whether it is Resistance, HALO, Gears, CoD4 or LBP, Super Mario Galaxy or Flow. Games should be entertaining and what entertains some may not entertain others. That said most games whether they contain violent content or not, as long as they are entertaining, satisfy the majority of game players.
Next: "Breaking News! Water is WET!"
Anyone that has ever dealt with an online ONLY game, read MMO, knows there is some rough waters for the first week or two. The game itself aside from some backend server issues is solid and enjoyable.
For most of those titles I would say yes. But the price for DMC 4, Assassin's Creed and Unreal Tournament III are nice. Especially knowing that UT3 is going to get an expansion. As for Haze at $9.99 I would say buy for one reason. At least you get to break the disc after you play through it and you can't do that w/ a $5 rental.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words.. I can only think of one when looking at yours...
GAY
Oooh it can do a port. Example: Bio Shock. Now as for the devs being lazy and throwing a shovelware port out the door hoping to sell based on the franchise name is not the consoles fault. This is common in the industry and there really is no excuse except for laziness and lack of QA. But again is no surprise coming a PC game house. When the games are done right and ported correctly using the tools and compilers to properly optimize the code and make use of the architecture the game shou...
You sir have taken one too many hits of the MS kool-aid. Heavenly Sword, Resistance 1 AND 2, Motorstorm 1 and 2 are all excellent games. Folklore is fun but not my cup of tea. Lair is up in the air. Me personaly, I loved it even before the dual analog stick control patch. Others found the control difficult to get used to.
Oooh you poor poor misinformed soul. The Cell processor is arguably one of the biggest breakthroughs in microprocessor technology since the DEC Alpha in 1994. A few examples of the Cell's prowess can be found online. For instance:
1. M.I.T. has clustered 16 PS3's and run a custom build of Linux do perform blackhole simulations. To do the same on x86 based systems would cost an order of magnitude more due to the lack of the processor scalability in a multi-processor environme...
When devs get LAZY. IF, notice I stressed IF, devs use the PS3 as the lead platform the game generally comes out excellet. A perfect example is Burnout Paradise. The game is excellent, the XBox 360 version is damned good and everyone is happy. But Bethesda being primarily a PC dev house more than likely used the XBox 360 as the lead console due to the similarity to its' x86 big brother PCs and then ported over to PS3. Again just goes to show what happens when devs do good work vs. hacks ...
Refused to pay full price for a PS3 but had no problem paying full pric for a XBox 360? Do you mind me asking what model? I will assume the middle of the road model which put you at $300 initial price + XBL which got you $50 short of a PS3 OR the SAME PRICE as Dell is offering the 80 Gig PS3 for. Yet that's too much? Hypocrisy runs deep in veins of the XBox crowd.
Gamespot is a bunch of hypocritical ass kissers. Proof you say? HERE!
