Yes it is probably a little cheaper for devs to go with the XBox 360 first and then to the PS3. But where it doesn't make sense, at least in my mind is this. XBox 360 has a larger user base so they go with that... they release the PS3 version, which at a 17 million userbase in no small amount. The PS3 version of the title is shovelware and just plain old garbage because they threw it together and its a bad port.

Now I ask this. If you were a dev would you rather take the litt...

Well how many 3rd party devs go with the PS3 as the lead and then port to XBox has to be seen but some already have. Those that have have shown that it is viable and it works. Example is DICE that make Bad Company and Mirrors Edge. Then there is Criterion Games and Burnout Paradise. These games look excellent and perform excellent on both consoles because the time was taken by both studios to do it RIGHT. Shovelware, whether it is for the PS3 or XBox 360 is unacceptable and should not be...

If you look at titles developed on the PS3 by first parties such as Insomniac, Polyphony Digital, MM and Guerilla Games they are absolutely stunning. Thats not to say that a XBox 360 game would look excellent as well but to develop on the PS3 first and to port to the XBox 360 is only common sense. Look at Burnout Paradise and Mirrors Edge as examples of how this process WORKS. Then look at Fallout 3 to see how the opposite fails miserably. Granted Fallout 3 has its' share of problems on a...

That is the funniest damned thing I have ever read in my life. He must have cleaned his glasses or put his contacts in while he was waiting for the install to finish. There is no way that installing a game to a hard drive will make it look any better. The game engine and textures are "as is" unless patched and the colors won't get more vibrant either. I just find it amusing that this was actually published and made news! Then again the way things have been going lately nothing ...

I will give you that. It should have posted better stand alone numbers with over 2 million consoles in Japan. May I just suggest that we wait until Monday and get some other numbers than VGChartz just to be sure. They may not be innacurate this time but as history has shown us they definately aren't spot on either.

His article is inaccurate. He states in the article and a response to his article on the same page that LBP sold 30k consoles. Which in fact it did not. LBP sold 30k units on its' first day 23k of which are the standalone game and the other 7k were DS3 bundles (game + DS3). The console bundles won't be reported for at least another 5-7 days. So before you spout read.

We posted at the same time. ;)

Anyway, the stand alone numbers were counted as the I mentioned in my post. The only thing that was not counted in these sales figures were the console bundle which my guess wil be released when the weekly hardware sales numbers are released.

The 30k sales of LBP bundles were software + controller bundles ONLY. 23k of LBP sales was the game alone and 7k were controller bundles, game PLUS a black, silver or white controller. The console bundles were not included at all in those sales numbers. It even says so in the article, it also has pictures w/ description of the bundles for the readin impaired.

No matter how much you would like to propose that the processor in the XBox is superior you my friend are wrong. The Cell Broadband Engine from a performance standpoint is hands down more powerful than any processor currently available on the market today, PERIOD. Whether it is the XBox 360, AMD's or Intel's biggest or baddest. Hence the reason it is being used to do research grade simulations at MIT "Project Gravity Well" which is 16x PS3s networked as a cluster and doing blackh...

The XBox fanboys are on metacritic yet again lowering the user review score. Not that it matters any but it's getting REALLY OLD NOW.

First the PSP 3000 and its' anti-homebrew charge. Now Nintendo and its' equivalent crusade. Not that it will last long but it was nice of them to try.

An honest review and an honest score that the game deserves in its current state.

The fact that I have this on pre-order is one thing. The fact that it's scoring 9.0 - 10.0 religously is quite the other. The beta was awesome, particularly the co-op, not that the 30 vs. 30 TDM was bad, but I enjoyed co-op more. The single player must be phenominal though especially with the reviews it is getting.

The LBP console bundle is NOT included in these sales numbers. The only "bundle" is the controller bundle which was a little over 7k of the 30k LBP sales. We will have to wait for the weekend console sales charts to see how well the console bundle did.

Hmm.. Tales of Vesperia sold 24k in the first day and this sold 30k in the first day yet the XBox fanboys claimed success. Not to mention that 77k copies of GTA IV sold for the PS3 as well. You also have to take into account that the console bundles are not in this list so only time will tell how that turns out. From the looks of software alone LBP should be on course to sell between 350k - 400k lifetime software. Console bundles... hell thats up in the air.

30k in total software sales for LBP on day one 7k of which were controller bundles (black/silver/white). Now we need to sit back and wait a week or so to see how the console bundle sells.

Well thanks to this ooh so wonderful move in Belgium software piracy will increase tenfold. Before folks could at least try before buy now it's just gonna be download and burn. I would love to know who thought this was a good idea.
