Yeah that's a bunch of BS, but what do expect from a company that releassed a bunch of launch systems that they knew didn't work. As it stands if you bought your system before January 1st, 2006 you will get a refund for returning your system for repairs or be given a new system. I wouldn't be suprised if those 360s that are busting were part of some of the nonfunctional launch systems.

The demo running in the stores is not the final version there have been some improvements since those. I have played the store demo and it was just that a demo. The latest iterration of the game looks a lot better. The only gripe I have is that there isn't enough mud or dirt splashing on the screen but that was from playing the demo I hope the final version will have more.
But I don't expect too much from this title. They are taking the necessary steps by creating a solid story and character background. My main concern that it will be too easy and a very short game. But it looks awsome.
If you watch the video there is, what appears to be, about five seconds of gameplay at the end.

I wonder why exactly everyone compares the 60gb ps3 as the one to get? There is a 20gb version that is comparable to the 360 premium. You get more of the same and for an extra $100 you get a blu-ray player, if you want to look at it that way.
The premium ps3 is what it says preimium. The Ps3 core is absolutely functional, I believe a lot more functional than the 360 core but thats just my opinion of courese. The premium Ps3 has a few more bells and whistles for another $100...
The same gripe I hear is that the xbox 360 is easier to program for. This is beside the point, if you have a more powerful machine that will allow you to do more and keep you from limiting your ideas then you should develop for it. Even if you have to learn a new system of doing things, you should take the time to learn it to create better games for the consumer.

When did microsoft's game industry start making a profit? They are still operating at a loss, their game industry has lost a lot of money and are only around because of Bill Gate's deep pockets. Analists(guessers) are saying that the earliest profit for the 360 will not turn a profit until about September 2007 or later. I don't believe the xbox turned a profit until the release of the 360.

I was looking for something in the review about the issue, they did mention the ps3 ran at 720p but they only said the 360 ran at high definition. I thought it was odd sense they copy and pasted just about the entire review for both consoles. Anybody know of this issue of EA cutting corners like this?

I read both boards and I can tell, with the exception of a couple hardcore ps3 fanboys, nobody goes to the 360 fan boards tearing their games and decisions down. It something that has to stop. They also predicted that microsoft would break even on the launch of the 360 and would see major gains at the end of 2006. So I believe out of a bout five predictions they made only one was sorta true. You can check that report yourself.
Since xdr and gddr3 are split and located on different sides it reduces latency, so it should be much faster for the memory to access and allocate when needed. The access time should be much faster than the 360's I believe that is one of the advantages the PS3 has over xbox 360. It should also reduce bottlenecks, there were disadvantages to split over unified but I don't remember what they were. I don't think it was too significant given the high amount of bandwith the ps3 has, but I'm sur...
Why does everyone keep saying that the ps3 only has 256mb? Its documented and stated in multiple sources it has 256 XDR and 256 GDDR3 and if necessary they all can be pooled for 512mb. Posted on the Sony website, posted on the IGN ps3 FAQ, stated by Nvidia. What else do you need?

to support HD standards, nobody will have Tvs over 30' and its just a waste. I mean within the next seven to ten years who will have these tvs? Its a waste of money purchasing a machine that will only have an average life cycle of about seven years, I would rather purchase my console every three to four years and rebuy these features at a premium price.

There is a store here in my town that only fixes xbox consoles. I asked myself how can you make a living only fixing xbox consoles, so i called after seeing one of their commercials and asked "Do you fix any console besides the xbox", "No" "what about the 360" "No, just xbox." And I believe they have been in business for at least two years. Amazing and confusing.
