People believe Live is better because you can chat with people while doing something else. Being able to chat with people while doing something else is a good feature but is it worth the $4 a month. Do games run smoothly online without any glitches, hickups and just overall lag?

Slant six realized they f'uped and so with their graciousness they are only charging 9.99 for the first 24 hours of release then of course they are charging for the regular price of $15.
Socom will probably lose my interest as soon as modern warfare drops, then again when MAG drops, and then again when any other competent gaming company drops a good game.

if you like fast paced fps then you should be excited about modern warfare 2. This game is also going to be great, because it feels the gap for tactical shooters where your not running and shooting everything.

You could just start the game right there without closing Home, So when you exit the game you would start back at Home. Plus you could start a party with people, all they had to do is walk up and press a button and join the game.
I think its cool, especially with clans if you're waiting for people log in to a game your not just sitting there staring at a screen or something. You can wait around in Home when everyone logs in, everyone connects and instant party is created.
I've been beta testing home since day one, and during that time you could launch every game you had from home. COD4, Unreal Tournament, even all your demos. Now the only game that shows up is Warhawk.
What happened? They were supported when it was released so why are they gone now?
Warhammer 40k is one of the best universes out there, the only problem is that Gamesworkshop is wasting it. The hobby is overpriced, which is one reason I stopped playing, and i'm been playing since 2nd edition.
I hope they don't milk the game like the madden series, Downloadable content is the way to go as long as they keep the pricing fair. I believe it would have to support customization of armies, especially for marine players. I don't know about the rest of the 40k comm...
This was one of the games that was suppose to launch with the ps3, they showed tech demos of the game and how it functions that was very impressive. That was way back during the launch of the ps3 and i'm still waiting for this game.
the free content is 2 new factions and 2 new guns, the 9 sub, ak74, sr, m82 are guns that should have been there from the start. Those guns have been in every other socom so should have been there at launch. I won't be satisfied until they give us at least 2 free maps, either classic or new.
the ps3 is more difficult to develop for, sony has created free tools so developers don't have to be expert first party developers to know how to get the game to run on the 360 and use the same code for the ps3.
I really don't see why it would be wise for them to drop the ps3 and focus on xbox, it seems that is just missing revenue.
Of course I still feel jilted about how they dropped cod4 on the ps3, they released one map pack, no trophy support and then another ...
I'm really impressed that this was just on ps2, and the ps3 eye is about 3 x as good as the eye toy camera. Hopefully there will be some great games and not just the average kid things.
My favorite part is at about 1:06:00 and he showing the hit the ball into stuff, ala Natal's tech demo. But this is on ps2.
Sony released the phryeengine(sp) last year to help developers who were use to programing for pc. The tool was free and games like Dirt was one game that was used int he process.

I remember a few months ago video leaked on the internet about this game. Its nice to see that its still progressing in a good direction, I hope you will be able to customize the look of your characters so you can play any faction you want, perhaps a pallet swap included by the developers and then a custom one for people who have made their own marines, because I for one am sick of ultramarines.
Hopefully they will have a separate campaign for chaos marines.
The PS3 eye is suppose to be very technological isn't it a high definition camera? When it first came out I remember Sony talking about how it could track the most subtle movements and that it was also tracking things not seen. So isn't it possible that the ps3 Eye is no more advance then the camera Natal is using?
Given the power of the ps3 I believe that Sony could offer the exact same experience as natal if they have a mind to.
As others have pointed out in the past, its not paying for a superior service that people are arguing about, its paying for a service that is little to no different for a free service. I'm not going to tell you I own a xbox, but I have played on an xbox online and yes there is lag at times, if you're paying for it, it shouldn't lag or have the same amoutn of problems as a free service.
I do have a ps3 and the lag of first party games are a minimum, yeah I know Socom confront...
Get yourself banned from Home for something they are going to let you do anyway, real smart. Plus I kinda figured that there would be some sort of spyware with virus, don't be stupid people, just say no to stupidity.
I had the credentials of being in Gap and beta testing almost everything that came out for the ps3(anything good) Home, socom Confrontation, Resistance 2, etc...
After Socom I really really wanted to be in the beta, I received the email asking to be in it, filed it out correctly. And then watched as almost everyone on my friends list and their mama get into the beta. The thing is that I was really excited to test a very new game and give feedback and I Couldn't even win the bet...
