Seals the deal for me - I was torn over which version to get.
If you are budget-minded, then waiting is fine. However, if you just want to get it on the cheap rather than need to get it on the cheap, you should get this deal. Seriously, it was worth 59.99 - at 34.99, it's a steal!
You kinda just did, no? :)
Just sayin...
I like ezmuze+ hamster edition - you can make electonica tracks with an easy to use, yet surprisingly powerful interface
Star Wars wasn't Star Wars because of its scope - it was because of the way that it resonated with so many people and totally changed the way we perceived movies. Halo did the same thing with console games (first notably for part 2 and even moreso for part 3) - lines in Times Square, midnight releases, tons of people taking days off from work. People did the same stuff for Star Wars. I'm not saying that people didn't do it for MGS or FF, but it was nowhere near the extent of how p...
Fanboys won't cry - they'll just find every reason to justify the price and blow up the Interwebs with how much better things are even though they are paying. That's what a fanboy does.
The rest of us will pay if we decide that it is worth it to us. I have no problem paying extra if I feel that I'll get my money's worth. I'm not going to whine about it if I don't though...
I don't really care about either motion controller. I want to see more new IPs than sequels though, or at least the return of IPs that haven't been around in a while and have something new to bring to the table. Sequels are fine, but that seems like all we get these days.
Definitely excited about The Last Guardian, Agent, Gears 3, and (God-willing) Rare returning to form with a decent game.
Crysis 2 is not a Halo killer. Nothing is a Halo killer except the next Halo. No other FPS (and very few games of any genre) combine high sales, reviews, hype, long-term player retention and cultural phenomena like Halo does. Sure, other games have sold more (i.e. COD), but they don't have the lasting impact that Halo does when it comes to all of the other things that make Halo HALO.
It's the video game equivalent of Star Wars (no, not in content or story or even a...
Yeah - I LOVE the Blood Money ending. I kinda wish it was bit higher. It kinda reminds me of the more recent end of Splinter Cell: Conviction, where...
***SPOILER ALERT***
You're helplessly bound in the Oval Office, hearing the bad guy giving his speech when "MARK EVERYONE" comes onto the screen. Awesome moment and quite a rush at the time!
***END SPOILER ALERT***
Great list...
I think Socrates means a game that is non-PS3 exclusive.
I think that the mixed reviews are coming from the fact that this is a so-called genre game. Some people just don't care for survival horror, no matter how engaging the story or how the cool the other elements are. There will always be less than universal appeal for this kind of game as opposed to a Halo or Uncharted or GTA, because some people just don't get into it.
I do though, and I can't wait to play it!
Why don't sales matter?
I mean, you can blame the first couple of months on hype or advertising or whatever, but what about after that? What about a year later when Halo 3 still outsells new releases? What about when it keeps reaching new X million-sold milestones? What about when, almost 3 years later, it is still one of the most played (if not the most played) online games out there? What then?
Is it still hype or overhype?
Is it still advertising?
"Professor Smith is in - class is being taught"
LMFAO - I'm using that...
Do you say this because you actually played Bayonetta or was it because you could not get your fanboy goggles off long enough to actually enjoy a game that wasn't a PS3-exclusive.
Or maybe it was because the 360-version was universally considered to be the better of the two? I could see why someone like you might hate a game because of that.
Seriously - Bayonetta was awesome and deserved its reviews, regardless of what system(s) it appeared on. I love my PS3, but it ...
I understand the Pro-Sony crowd's argument that PS3-exclusive games are unjustly criticized for length and/or lack of innovation. While sometimes this IS NOT true, whether people choose to admit it or not, there are others where this is exactly the case - a perfect example is Heavenly Sword. That game was A LOT of fun, even though it was shorter than a lot of other games, and really didn't deserve most of the harsh criticism that it received.
That beign said, most of the review...
Anybody whose comment says that the PS3 or XBOX 360 should be on this list is an idiotic fanboy/girl.
Mine works fine as well, although I wish that they'd give the web browser a substantial update. Facebook still doesn't let me make posts. :(
There aren't too many original locations/situations left for gaming, if you think about it. I mean think about it - some of the best games in recent years aren't original in setting.
- God of War wasn't the first to take place in ancient Greece.
- Mass Effect wasn't the first to take place in space and on planets.
- Uncharted wasn't the first to take place in jungle or ancient temple
- Left 4 Dead wasn't the first to take place in a city overrun with zombie...
Does it matter or will people be weeping and mournful because some game from 2006 doesn't have Trophy support? No.
Would replays of the same game be enhanced in some way by the addition of Trophies? Of course it would.
But the point of his preference in terms of the two progress systems was that all 360 games have Achievements, where not all PS3 games have Trophies. Hence, the unified Achievement system tag.
And for the record, who in their right m...
I'm glad that they didn't include MGS4, but you have to admit that it was a long and drawn-out ending that stopped making sense after a while in order to tie up "loose" ends, Return of the King-style.
