And how exactly would you propose that Microsoft get with the times?

Add a Blu-ray player? That would divide their market because not everyone would buy it (see the Sega 32X), Besides that, they've already said no on the subject many times.

Stop allowing publishers to make 360 games? Oh, you'd love that I bet.

I'm out of ideas, as I'm sure that developers faced with the problem are as well. The fact i...

I don't think that it's necessarily a question of respect. Although both are first person shooters, they aren't necessarily the same type of game.

I was griping to my friend (who is a HUGE BF fan) that we only got to see a tank gameplay demo at the EA event. He responded that that was because BF is a vehicle based combat game. While I don't necessarily agree with him completely, I get his point. BF and COD are simply different animals that share the FPS distin...

Totally agree. Microsoft's didn't inspire me at all, and Sony's was too handheld oriented for my liking. There wasn't too much that we didn't know about already, which is why I love E3 in the first place.

That being said, Sony's was definintely better, although it didn't really take much. My favorite conference of the day was surprisingly UbiSoft. Plus - no laser tag this year LOL

E3 is definitely Nintendo's for the taking.

It was diappointing, save the Halo announcements. I liked seeing MW3 in action, but WAY too much time was spent on it. Kingdoms/Ryse looked okay, but I'm not a motion control kinda guy and thus will not be picking it up. They seemed to have focused a lot of Kinect. Granted, they sold a ton of the peripherals, but for those of us without it, there wasn't too much seen here.

On the positive, Minecraft could be interesting both with and without Kinect support. And even t...

I dunno about PSV 3G FTW - I (like a LOT of the audience judging by the boos) was very disappointed to hear that AT&T would be the exclusive PSV carrier. I'm trapped in a contract with them and the coverage sucks. The speed sucks. They should have gone with Verizon. It's funny, but for the nation's largest and supposedly fastest carrier, everyone I know (on either coast, north and south) can't stand AT&T.

@NateCole

I don't know anything about Kingdoms. Nobody except the developers does.

However, as I stated before, aside from a general blurb about the setting and who is making it, NOBODY except the developers know anything about Agent either.

EDIT: And the PS3 exclusivity doesn't do anything for me. Great games are great games, just as poor games are poor games. The console that they appear has no meaningful impact on their quality - ...

@KonaBro

Congratulations. You've told me nothing about Agent except that it is developed by Rockstar and not Crytek.

My point was that nobody knows what either game looks like or plays like, let alone how good they will be.

After last year's epic Sony Conference appearance, it wouldn't be an E3 without him!

I know that I'm going to get heat for this, but...

It looks like a futuristic Call of Duty. Everything from the ADS to the hit markers to the killstreaks to the pop-up XP notifications to the overall feel of the footage. I'm not saying that it doesn't look good, but it can't be said that it looks like something too different from what is out there and coming out soon.

I wasn't a fan of the first two, but they had their own style to them. ...

I don't think that the PS4 will use the Cell as Sony sold of the rights to it a while back to either Toshiba or Samsung IMSMC.

I found a couple of fuuuuuuunny glitches. Spoiler-free.

When you're searching the rooftops during the Silk Stocking murder, you can actually fall though the ledge by the water tower. I kinda walked along it and turned when I was about to fall off. Then I fell anyway, and then teleported back up to the ledge in a lying on the ground position - stuck. Then I kinda slowly kept automatically moving until I fell through the building and ground and was locked into a below the s...

@Greywulf

I understand your points. Some of them I agree with. Others I do not.

Sales do not necessarily mean that a game is high quality, but one also must consider that if a game truly isn't good, then people will stop playing it. The most played games on both XBOX and PSN are COD titles, with even COD4 hanging on in the top ten after almost 4 years. If the games were not good by any reasonable definition of the word, then people simply would not play t...

Totally agree and I forgot to say that myself. I hold SOCOM to a higher standard than other games simply because I literally played it and no other games for 4 years straight. Every night. Also, why is it so hard to play with your friends? I like the clan challenge system, but, as most SOCOM players of old will know, I have friends who aren't in my clan. True, we could private match, but there's no XP or unlocks for that, and since it takes FOREVER to ge...

I dunno. I hated the beta. I bought the retail anyway though, and ended up playing the SP (which I don't usually do in the SOCOM series because I love the multiplayer so much). I really liked the SP campaign. The cover system was a bit frustrating, but I still enjoyed it a lot.

I waited 3 and a half weeks to play the multiplayer, and to be honest, I can't stand it. The hit detection is the worst I've seen in a next-gen game. The cover system that was merely an inc...

I'm sure that what the author is trying to say is the best way to make people forget about the hacks and the outage is to give us things that we as gamers want - announcements, footage, and info. And while Sony usually does a good job at this, this year is EXTREMELY important for them to ace their conference because, whether or not the diehards or fanboys want to admit it, consumer faith in Sony has taken a tremendous hit in the past month.

They d...

PS3 fanboys are worse than 360 fanboys for one reason and one reason only - entitlement.

They were on top of the world when the PS2 was the highest selling console of the generation. When the 360 came out, even before the RROD controversy, they were vehement in claiming that the console would fail and that "better graphics didn't matter" - an ironic statement considering their current position on graphics.

Fast forward to today, and the PS3 ...

Have YOU played Homefront?

It has some of the most fresh and addictive multiplayer that the FPS genre has seen in a long time. The single player campaign was a bit short, but you more than get your money's worth out of multiplayer if you give it a chance.

Kinect has plenty of games - it's the non-Kinect fanbase that have been experiencing a lack of games.

And by games, I mean exclusive games. There's plenty of excellent multiplats out there.
