I loved the intro movie and song. Felt like a female James Bond thing.
You know, I used to believe in the whole COD4 was teh best argument, but then I got on it a month or so ago and I realized why I stopped playing it in the first place - everybody quicksniping and camping. Seriously - say what you will about QS in MW2, but it's a million times worse in COD4.
I'm pretty sure that you can find Guitar Hero games in stores still. The last release was actually among the best in the series, despite the fact that the franchise is in a holding pattern at the moment.
@Agent_hitman
Graphics are the most important thing in gaming? Really?!
There's these little things called gameplay and fun that beg to differ.
Left 4 Dead on Expert Realism is definitely up there. It's an exercise in masochism unless you are an expert playing with three other experts.
Instead of looking at Elite as a service unto itself, treat Elite like a so-called season pass for DLC. COD fans that buy every piece of DLC can expect to pay $60 a year on it a la carte. With Elite, you get ALL of the DLC for $50 (or $40 if you get the Hardened Edition) AND you get the bonus features of the paid Elite membership. It's actually a great value for people who buy all of the DLC if you compare it to the current model that Activision goes by.
@Jordanemery
You are severely misinformed. Everything that was always free with COD is still free with Elite - nothing has been taken away. In fact, many features have been added to the free portion of Elite that haven't been available before. I'm not sure where you are going with this?
@Kee
Actually, Elite and PS+ are exactly in the same vein - optional content for an additional fee. Maybe you meant to say LIVE?
@Happythedog
So by your logic, what does that say about the PS3?
@MARKUS_MAX1MUS
"Im not looking for confrontation, im looking to see if anyone can give me a set of legitimate points as to how exactly BF3 is innovative compared to MW3 besides stating the obvious notion of graphics."
So far I've seen (and I'm paraphrasing here), voice chat, better physics, and a dude who tells you to ask him why BF3 is better. I'll even throw in fighter jets since nobody has mentioned them in this particular reply thread...yet....
You can't camp in BF3?
o_O
Okay - call it a draw. Say that there are just as many ACTIVE 360's as PS3's. Do that...
...then the PS3 is getting absolutely DESTROYED in software sales categories. The disparity in multiplat sales is often attributed to there simply being more 360's, and therefore more sales to maintain a ratio of demand. But if we take away that lead by saying that the consoles are RROD victims, then the Sony software sales figures become direct comparisons to 360 software sal...
I don't think that (save a few titles) it will be a staple of the hardcore gamer. However, that was never the point of it. Microsoft wanted to get more casual gamers to buy 360s and Kinect, which they have succeeded in doing if you go by the sales.
I love my 360 and PS3, but motion control isn't my thing.
@ProjectSiK
It's not a stupid argument because of any reason other than the fact that it's not true. Exclusives aren't the only games released on consoles. Shocking, I know, but true nonetheless. Multiplatform game sales dwarf exclusive sales on EVERY console. It's not previous generations where consoles had their own lineups for the most part, and where such an argument (if applicable) would have made sense.
I don't understand the "technical details" argument. Mediocre or merely good movies don't become classics or Oscar winners simply because of awesome cinematography and special effects.
Games should be judged on the overall experience, not individual parts.
Hey man watch the paint!
@KingSlayer
You could play SOCOM 4 on alien technology and that still wouldn't make that turd pretty.
I played Motorstorm in 3D though. Very impressive and a promising indication of what 3D gaming can do.
@KingSlayer
You don't actually need the online pass to play Gears multiplayer. It's solely for discounted DLC.
Uncharted is the best exclusive IP this generation on any console. I would say in the past two generations if it weren't for God of War.
@Unicron
I agree for sure. I think that part of the problem is that "event" games come out on a regular basis now instead of once or twice a year like they did back in the day. The only game when i was a kid that I remember having a hyped launch was Super Mario 3. It wasn't until PS2 when games really had that "mark it on your calendar" level of attention.
Part of this is the Internet. Before, we relied on going to video games stores ...
