either the websites are posting inaccurate reports or the devs are contradicting themselves....... i guess we will really see when the game is reviewed and released.
In my opinion though, I think the devs would be missing an opportunity by not even attempting to improve visuals to create one, a nice selling feature, and two, make an excellent game as good as it possibly could be.
I thought it was built with both consoles in mind from the ground up. Which the past has shown us is significantly different to the game being designed for one console and ported.

Real world server stress testing is the only thing that they wouldn't have been able to realistically simulate previously.
Of course, it is possible to have other machines just firing "typical" messages at the servers to find the point at which the servers fall over but this isn't really like real world testing.

Still it was quite funny. I get the feeling that he doesn't really like the DS3 as the only positive thing he said about it was that it rumbles!
Although this, as the article stated, should be a full service like gmail was, I think it would be reasonable to expect teething problems.

The really great thing about beta is that the product it isn't 100% locked or set yet so we can still have a potentially big impact on what the final product will be like.
Isn't this just a case of attaching the other controllers button faces onto the original controller? What wiring is needed for that?

Of course the Wii is selling, it's marketed at the casual market with a nice affordable price.
But I wonder, the casual market isn't obviously willing to spend as much on gaming as the "real/hardcore" gamer so while the cheap price of the console was enough to sway them the games aren't any cheaper. Which means there may be a limit on how many or how often the casual gamer will buy games.

Eitherway, this is a bit of a poor performance. I for one think it would be better if they re-released a full working solution rather than rush it back out and still miss things.
What are the main differences you dislike?
I haven't really noticed anything divide western and japanese cut scenes. Although I think from dev to dev there can be difference styles and techniques used.
I pray to the lord of gaming that episodic content isn't going to be the norm. They are frustrating and nasty on many levels.
1. you are happily getting into to a game when all of a sudden it ends. Oh crap, looks like you have to wait another 4 months for the next episode.
2. Hang on a minute, this episode cost almost half the price of a full game but only delivers about a quarter of the content. My maths may be off, but something doesn't seem right there?

As consumers we should always be pushing for lower prices and for greatest "bang for our buck". We should never settle for prices as they are because without consumer and competitor pressure companies would never innovate.
How companies do this innovation to make the same product for less is their problem not ours.

but wholly obvious when considered. When you see somebody playing a game your eyes immediately track down to the controller they are holding, as soon as you see that you don't even need to look at the console itself because you already know. The controller is the identifier of the console.

but for me, I really couldn't care less about trophies. I play the games for the games and it doesn't matter whether I am great at them or completely rubbish, if I am entertained then I am satisfied.

I just hope that we don't get to the point where we HAVE to mess around with avatars to even play games or use online features. I want to "just boot and go!".
