No, that's still a lot for a company, especially when considering Control's dev costs were around $20-$30 million.
Not if the Fortnite $$$ keeps coming.
Nearly to the finish line and can't get enough of it. And look! Positive coverage of a blockbuster title from the guy who supposedly loves to rag on them! :D
With an incredibly calmer response by the larger community than when FF13 or Devil May Cry went multiplatform. It is what it is.
Eh...maybe? I'm not really sure what's accomplished here. Gears 1 released in 2006 and every publisher has opened new chapters since then, thus the title.
Oh no...a new trilogy in which new characters hang around old characters like virtually every other blockbuster series in existence. And a female secondary protagonist becomes the primary on here after valid reasons.
Any other stale complaints?
From what's been shown and what other reviews have stated, this seems like an insanely high score. Glad you enjoyed it that much but we're talking 'gold-standard' levels of a game that I just don't see with it.
The description literally tells why it wasn't put in Gears 4, and it's not what you suggest.
@Kribwalker
It is actually installed to an external harddrive. I'll put that into consideration, but that's still a bad look of me having to put in legwork & more time to transfer this stuff to an internal drive.
@rainslacker
Sure, but it's often dependent on the threshold of reviewers in general. Days Gone is one that DID a plethora of major issues handled around the 1-2 week mark of its release, but many lowered scores were clearly influenced by the 1.0 state of things. I think Control did get a knockdown by specific reviewers as well who played on a base XOne/PS4 too.
"While I wish reviews would address them, they don't, and I don't see why...
"I don't really care about scores but this game is nowhere near the Metacritic of 85 it got, it belongs in the mid 90."
While I understand your enthusiasm, the amount of disconnects and annoying technical issues DO NOT warrant such a high score imo. I've had to hard reset a few times in respect to cutscenes not being properly triggered. There's notable--though not downright awful--MP connectivity issues to make as well.
I mean...critics aren't really your best source of info in respect to mid-tier games. Many are ready to ignore massive faults in AAA RPG's like Andromeda (low-70's meta) but rarely give a second-chance to those which don't have the means to show off insane tech visuals.
I'm not going to outright disregard criticism of their collective work, but I'm not impressed by simply flaunting MetaCritic ratings for less-popular studios either.
@King_Noctis
"Fyi, I did not refer to the low reviews article. I know far too well about article and heat. I was talking about mods here in general, specifically the one that we know all too well."
Well, that just makes it worse for you. You mean to tell me you're willing to ignore objectively incorrect claims about mods (i.e. that we artificially pinned this article to the top for the sake of clicks) just to share your own piece about us n...
Let the record reflect: your accusation of 'mod bias' here is predicated on a false claim--that can be proven to be too. Each "artificially pinned" submission (which only ADMINS have ability to) is transparently labeled as "Pinned" for a certain timespan. You'll likely see Christopher utilize it for (hopefully!) upcoming Christmas user contests. Maybe you recall when he did that last year to notify as many users as possible.

@will313
*Sigh*...
Have you considered the possibility that different reviewers reviewed those other games?
My thoughts exactly! I don't really follow the praise others have given it, but that's how opinions work. Didn't really click for me.
People keep telling me to download this game for some reason! I thought they're just teasing me, but maybe it's worth a look.
-"I dont understand you peoples logic of game length = quality loool... Unncharted 2 could EASILY be finishes in about 10 hours, something people scoff at today but Unchared 2 shits on DAMN NEAR EVERY campaign you could bring to the table lool"
I don't know what to make of this or your entire ramble. It's really not helping your argument. For one, UC2's 10-hour campaign was never scoffed at by anyone serious back then, esp. since it was a slight bump...
-You're presenting disinformation about what "they" said. No one should be convinced otherwise. I don't think you two understand how such a strange hill this is to die on. You're both trying to claim hypocrisy by saying xbox fans are hypocritically acting more easygoing regarding game length & price. Okay...fine. Even if that were the case, being more forgiving of a ten dollar increase is less offensive than a FORTY dollar one. It's not even in the same bal...
You're incredibly naive if you believe no money exchanged hands here.
