It's an original IP that's going to be rated E10+. I think those are the main qualifications to qualify for those accolades.
He's the Franchise Development Director there. Different set of responsibilities from being the Creative Director for a game.
@rainslacker
Well, I guess when I've felt inundated with bad arguments about this in the past I can be happy in seeing someone's comeuppance. But I think you're putting too much focus on people "eating crow" when labeling me as such. Being able to literally see & feel the smoothness benefits one's been missing out on in lieu of high-res textures isn't a bad way to be disproven, by my estimation.
-1/2 agree, 1/2 disagree...
I'd love to see a solid collective effort by the industry to also push 120fps as an option, if only for some to eat crow about 30fps being the threshold for human eyes or whatever other bad argument was made back then.
You just--accidentally--gave one of the biggest endorsements for Game Pass and its benefits for indies.
It certainly stuck the landing MUCH better than Halo 4, if comparing 1st entries by new devs.
-"Were your ears burning or something? Maybe I wasn't even talking about you..."
What in heaven's name are you talking about? Of course you weren't talking about me! What a preposterous notion. Didn't even cross my mind when I made my first response, old bean.
-"My goodness... please don't.... or if you do don't tell me about... especially not in review form."
Is that a request, I hear?!?...
Oh man...I still have time?!?!? I honestly didn't intend to have this last-minute type of response to this. I did know about your 2nd reply earlier, but it fell to the wayside in favor of other stuff. Anyways...
-"It's not that it's just everyone acts its the best thing ever, same thing that happened with Walking Dead"
Hold up! Your initial stance about this was people simply "liking" the Life is Strange games, not going...
I know, right? Some just have to create drama for no reason.
Anyways, I enjoyed the read. Games like the Yakuza series, and Judgment by extension, are ones I need to actively seek out and play soon.
Speaking as someone who's been with LiS since the beginning, I think Before The Storm has some godawful writing. There's a light smattering of emotional, effective scenes to be found, but are dwarfed by everything else. A mess from top to bottom.
Yeah, yeah. There's no one who's shy about those moments of seeing thirty-somethings trying to capture millennial high-schoolers. But at least Season 1 has heart and ambition. It's a game containing an apocalyptic doomsday, time travel, and some dark material but ultimately centers it on a coming of age tale for the two leads. There's more going on there that's worth exploring.
Ah man! You beat me to it. :P
It's a great coincidence to see that pic + title pop up.
What? They have various raffles going on throughout the year which are sometimes intertwined with some seasonal promotion. You're just highlighting non-news as ownage that I really can't follow.
Yeah, I've seen people go up to suggesting anything below a 5 should fall under "broken" so I've never really trusted this flimsy, arbitrary gradient of a game's "brokenness." I simply categorize a 2 as a "terrible" example of its genre. In essence: I believe Life Is Strange: Before The Storm is a terrible narrative-driven adventure game (in the vein of the TellTale adventure template) and a terrible prequel at that. Why's that the case? I thin...
As a better, more direct response:
I'm not leaving. I'm not leaving. I'm not ****ng leaving! The show goes on! This is MY home! You're gonna need a *****ng wrecking ball to take me outta here! You're gonna need to send in the national guard or the SWAT team, 'cause I ain't goin' nowhere!
Much appreciated.
Awww thx
Hope everyone enjoyed the review. Please feel free to share your thoughts below. As far as I can tell, I'm in a small minority but I just don't follow the love here. And it's all the more annoying that the short-lived enjoyment from "Farewell" hearkens back to when the two female leads' friendship felt more authentic. But I digress.
ICYMI: You're now making game length comparisons with a game that cost TWICE as much at launch. Some mental alarm bells should be going off if you're trying to claim hypocrisy with that example.
