-"Ok coolbeans, meanwhile, the guy above me called the guy a self indulgent piece of work and mocked him....but MY post is the most dastardly, callous denigration of an artist's efforts and the most contemptuous ever?"
1.) I didn't designate this as "the most" in either of those respects. "Among the most contemptuous" on the other hand? Yeah, and I stand by it.
2.) This...Highlife character hadn't made any posts until--...
To think I wouldn't see a comment I hated more than Tyler's in this section.
-" If this guy was a plumber would he want his name on the pipes hey boss look at me."
That's such a laughable comparison. A plumber didn't MAKE anything regarding said pipes though, his part comes in respect to labor and putting them together. The manufacturer on the other hand? Every single piece of PVC, copper, etc. is recognized as a BRAND. Inv...
@Highlife
And here you are making a false equivalence.
I've gotta say this such a callous denigration of an artist's effort. Like, among the most contemptuous ones I've seen.
-"Kudos for working hard, but u left right before crunch."
The phrase "everything said before the 'but' in a sentence doesn't matter" really rings home here. What's with playing this weird game of slicing up his % of contribution or minimizing said effort just b/c he wasn't there duri...
A lot to take in!
"In that vein, I concede that yes, there are times when really well made games on a technical level, are not necessarily above average when taken as a whole. However, I tend to look at how I rate games with the technical achievements built in, and feel that DS holds some level of above average execution."
And I can follow that line of reasoning. There's just something particularly aggravating here that stretches one's ...
It ain't easy, but with enough consideration one can reach said conclusion.
-one of the most obnoxiously designed games in respect to its delivery-sim template
-overwhelming sense of tedium at fetch quests
-shoe-horned shooting galleries & annoying boss fights that are rarely engaging
-incredible lengths taken to waste your time
-one of Kojima's worst stories (not bereft of good qualities like the world-building though)
To think you did alright with your initial responses of detailing how you felt about it to making a new one with one of the laziest canards when it comes to criticism: "you just played the game wrong." Normally, wrongly playing a game wouldn't result in one successfully completing the campaign, but let's go with this.
I can only speak of playing this on Hard difficulty (as the difficulty text for it harmonized with what I was hoping to get out of it). ...
Hey, if you learned something perhaps their review enterprise wasn't a total failure.
-"I thought they just inflated a failing console sales numbers."
That's what the review scores are for: balancing everything out.
-"...be accurate at what you're known for before deversifying into reviews."
Demanding accuracy while disregarding spell-check indicators in the same sentence is peak comm...
1.) "Sorry, maybe for you or for that site, but 4/10 is a game that got huge problems running, needs a 40 gigas update day one and more"
I mean...alright. I can appreciate that's your translation of a 4; but having said that, I'm more than happy to contest DS has got YUGE problems that cripple player engagement lol. But that's me stretching your intention.
2.) So, I think we're really getting into the weeds there in regards...
1.) But a game receiving 4/10 doesn't translate to a broken mess either, especially from the site's methodology. I mean...I follow in respect to graphical fidelity, but listing off everything else is just overselling it. Hiring big-name actors doesn't suddenly mean it's in an echelon all its own, especially when the dialogue seems so listless. Norman Reedus could be switched with anyone else for his gruff protagonist attitude during most of it. I guess by "style"...
Appreciate it, phoenix.
-"I'm purposefully going by what's the norm i didn't dictate it. The fact that the hive-mind of people flocks to scores and purchasing decisions based on 7-10 and that it reflects in metacritic it affects the bottom line of a game."
But what if you're someone who's never cared for this norm in the first place? People are capable of walking out of a theater considering a movie 'sub-par' (4/10, ...
If you're able to acknowledge that it's not a game for everybody...why the antagonistic response when you see proof of that?
"The reality is that some of the biggest names in the industry are praising the game."
Cool. Are you suggesting the thoughts of industry veterans should dictate the subjective thoughts of everyone else?
"Do we need that studios try something diferent beside racers and shooters? Yes."...
That metric is not reflected by the site's review methodology, for one. And what kind of logic are operating on for 4/10 to be considered "broken." I'm genuinely curious because it seems like that kind of mentality is what got us to this point in respect to common 7-10 review scales.
Although I thinks it's cool to see you got that level of enjoyment, I'll personally never be able to register how that's the case. It's one of the most antagonistic games to even my often-weird sensibilities.
The Super Mega Baseball series exists too!!!
Well, he said "about 10" which suggested they could've still been scouring for content to fill specific time slots.
This should automatically count as correct, even if you guess the wrong game. :P
@Christopher
Erm...heh...what are you, uh, talking about there, bud? You're making it sound like that review description is talking about me and you. Stop acting goofy now. ●﹏●
Hopefully never. That way you won't be tempted to waste any of your valuable time on it.
-Remember this game was suck simply because "tgere is no black zombie"
You're just strawmanning the typical criticisms of DG, of which there were MANY more issues found in the 1.0 version critics received.
