[Part 2]
-"Much like they never gave up on always online and eliminating used sales and ownership, the first idea didn't work but they keep on trying with things like gamepass and streaming ect."
Seriously, what is this language of hinging some of these issues on Game Pass here? Physical media is still very much a thing for Xbox One so I'm not sure how used game sales are being affected. In regards to ownership: that's been an issu...
There's a lot of issues I have with the overall presentation of this argument. And I think certain issues comes down to equivocation or desperately stitching specious points where you appreciate looking as though you're ahead, yet your points to substantiate that are kinda flimsy.
-"It's whether people will buy new games when they can play them for a buck. The answer is absolutely yes, games are being devalued."
So what exactly are ...
Recycling what I've already brought up and saying "read the title" isn't any shot across the bow. It's tautology.
"...and automatically assuming it did suffer."
Yes...that's what the examination is about. It's pretty easy to assume if one takes issue with a game's story they'll venture to examine why that's the case. None of this runs contrary to the usual opinion piece on here. I suggest you recon...
C'mon now...even the piece's title is in the form of a question! This staff is willing to explore and discuss Days Gone's potential pitfalls. You've done more acting as though your opinion is fact then they have.
I'm sorry but what does whataboutism regarding Breath of the Wild have anything to do with mijayire's comment? That game is not even brought up by him. Provide push-back by going AFTER the user's criticisms with points of your own.
@Sono421
Ah I see. Well...I don't know. Buyer be warned across all formats atm. Appreciate the clarification.
Yeesh! Even more annoying stuff to look forward to. I was going to try playing a little more today in hopes of giving a follow-up later (most likely as an update to this blog). I appreciate the info and hope other users take your complaints into account before making the purchase.
Ah right. That was something the youtuber (linked in 1st comment) brought up. I can't speak to several issues he had only because my playtime seems to be more limited. I just can't tolerate that skipping for very long. There's something about that kind of issue with online games that drives me crazy.
Heh...a good way of putting it. Nevertheless, that info is illuminating and may suggest this experience is currently more isolated to the Xbox One & Switch versions. I appreciate the input.
This should already be a foregone conclusion, really. The Xbox One doesn't even have Grim Fandango Remastered, Full Throttle Remastered, and other remasters like PS4 & PC do.
Hope someone found this blog handy.
Better to acknowledge this now: I did self-approve my own blog here. This wasn't done on a whim, as I'd discussed this with Christopher before pulling the trigger. And I actually think this poses an interesting opportunity for us, the admin/mod team, to assist in informing of potentially deal-killing issues like these online problems. I'm still, frankly, flabbergasted of just how big of a blind spot this appears to be for...
I started the game around the evening EST (yesterday) and most races, through matchmaking or private, were a terrible case of cars jumping from place to place instead of experiencing a smooth race. The only time that wasn't the case was when I hosted a private race.
On Xbox One this is simply untrue. This has to be one of the worst cases of host advantage I've come across in a released game.
Get on it! :P
I didn't, but then again I'm a strange one to ask. I'm a fan of subtitles and stuff like that tends to be mentally blurred out for me. Plus, I think it works as a stylistic choice in this context as well. I don't remember if there's a way to tweak it in settings either.
Well, I've only dipped my toes in Farewell, My Lovely so I guess that's my only choice atm. I'll get back to you when get around to reading through more of his stuff.
Indeed. It has a fair share of critics too but I came away impressed with what this first-time developer was doing out of the gate. Best of luck to ya! :D
Hope everyone enjoyed the review. So, I have another giveaway deal here for this game. Like I'd done before, anyone who comments here between now to 11:59 on June 23rd (this Sunday) will be thrown into raffle to win a code of White Night on either Xbox One, PC (Steam), or Nintendo Switch. It's looks weird how there's no PS4, I know. But Xbox One & PS4 are in a weird situation as White Night isn't on their respective storefronts anymore. I'm guessing it's a pub...
Then both of you are disregarding the disparities in those situations just to make a point. Ensemble, while a disappointing loss, was cut loose during one of the toughest economic recessions of recent history. Mid-tier studios were getting canned left and right after the wake of it. As solid of a record as they had, fat was being trimmed down everywhere.
Lionhead? Eh...it's true that's more recent and Legends looked to be ticking plenty of boxes. But they pot...
Is this supposed to be the new diss or something? Because moving the goalposts from "weak first party" to "lol have to save studios in financial trouble" isn't a good look.
"It’s succinct, raw, emotional and overall enjoyable despite the script almost being its own undoing."
I'm not really following. Spending several sentences describing how overbearing the script can be makes adjectives like "succinct" feel inappropriate to describe SoS overall; in fact, that's the exact opposite of what succinct means.
