"Also author. Good review. honest and to the point."
Thank you. I certainly don't enjoy the idea of giving a scathing review to a game others could have really enjoyed, but I just had to state my quarrels with this game.
Jinxstar basically stated it for you. When it comes to the review side, I try to mingle between acting as if this is a review from the past and present. In the past tense, I considered the game's initial price point, graphics/audio compared to rest of industry, etc. In present terms, I also noted the patch that allows you to control more dragons and incorporates flying with the left analog stick, although it's terribly tacked-on.
I'd recommend steering clear ...
Hope everyone enjoyed the review. Congrats for being more first Certified Rotten rating, Lair :P. Feel free to ask me any questions in the comment section or through PM.
You to need to account for the singing though. Whether you know the songs or not, there's a real challenge in that aspect of Beatles: Rock Band.
I did notice some odd knifing quirks, but that fell under the gameplay section of the review "luck wins over skill in close combat". I'm certainly not as seasoned as you, but I haven't really ran into lag that was hampering, or lag in general.
Agreed, it's still unique through it's focus on teamwork but it felt like such a chore to get to the pedestal of what MAG is all about.
Hope everyone enjoyed the review. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I may have been a bit tough on the fun factor side of things, but the reason it's just average is b/c of how taxing the early experience felt. It definately feels more rewarding upon reaching level 15 and understanding the game a bit more.
No, BUT the R2-D2 360 bundle can by force (already has on me :P).
What's been the worst Agree/Disagree ratio on n4g? This one could become the winner soon :P
Team Rocket?
Whether intentional or not, you've just stepped into scene 1 of the usual n4g against MS.
Scene 1: Any kind of exclusive from a 3rd party company = "Seems like a missed opportunity to not go multiplatform. Why's MS greedy?"
Scene 2: Any kind of used-to-be exclusive from a 3rd party = "360 has no games!"
Watch Inception!
"...the title's ten-dollar price and lack of any extended time commitment...."
Wouldn't this translate into the reviewer praising it for...being short (or over quickly in his/her mind)?
@FredEffinChopin
It's a shame you're out of bubbles for this conversation since it's actually an enjoyable one. With the example you've given, I can agree that not all written material needs to be examined in order to come to a conclusion on where your stance on said topic holds; however, that doesn't mean this blog is one of them.
If you will allow me to digress in this paragraph: "How might it be implied that infers anything bu...
By not reading the blog, you still don't know how the term mediocre is implied to begin with. You don't even know what facets of the game the blogger COULD be praising; and since you never specified whether or not only the title is wrong or the blog entirely, you may be disagreeing with the blogger on a point you both find to an actual high point of the series. This all happens b/c you didn't read the blog.
I'm sorry that you find my 2nd post to be misconstr...
We should be glad this guy isn't involved with publishers. Moving the release window to a less crowded time-frame, doesn't mean it will sell better; it's when the HARDWARE gets moving that new buyers are more inclined to buy-you guessed it-more games.
But when it comes to saying the blogger is wrong, doesn't it require you to know what aspects of the game the blogger's complaining about? In the end, everyone who sees Kee's post is going to say: "What was the point in posting?"
Kee is just an example of someone blindly defending a series unwilling to admit where there could be faults. What I just described in my last sentence is something you would find in the internet dictionary of fanboyism.
Is everyone ignorant to the fact that it went on sale at Gamestop for $14.99? That's where I bought my copy, which cost more than a used copy of Heavenly Sword :P.
Doesn't that just make you ignorant?
Pretty sure you can find it for Digital Download somewhere.
Although I can't speak on the "clan that communicates" part, I can certainly agree MAG does deliver an unmatched experience in regards to scale. It's not that I was asking MAG to be a "pick up and play game", I just wanted MAG's "extended training" (grabbing quote from my review) of playing when level 1-14 didn't make it feel like such a vapid FPS in comparison to others.
