@MrSpace
Your points simply conflict with mine, but don't hold insurmountable grounds for an argument to be established (ie your "points" aren't exactly bullet proof). Since you and I are out of comments for this thread, feel free to PM me if you wish to discuss this more.
1.) You're demanding the flucuation of a business model to your choosing. There's a reason hardly anyone on n4g would do well in business, it's becaus...
Remedy owns the ip.
Edit: Disagree but no comment? If I'm wrong this should be noted immediately. Plz tell me if this is the case.
So many of your points are just flawed.
1.) Kinect advertising should be of no consequence to the possible promotion of its other releases. It's simple business: they saw Kinect as a possible cash cow in '10 (which they were right), so they funded it appropriately.
2. Microsoft's pinned release for Alan Wake does not mean they were being an 'unkind' publisher in any way. How could anyone have anticipated a sequel to a Rockstar game...
If that's the case (going multi), I'll go one step further and say iOS + handhelds are possible to some extent as well (like the article says).
Since Remedy mentioned AW2 would only take 18 months to develop, I wouldn't be surprised if this project is AW "Season 2"; furthermore, I wouldn't be surprised if they pack every game with a Halo 4 beat code (something to ponder).
Doesn't it take up at least 51% of the MMO market when discounting gold farmers?
Short review but to the point.
I think some of your questions will be answered in the coming months. The studio did mention something about dev diaries or vid specials explaining the dynamics of the gameplay. I personally think we'll hear something soon after the Uncharted 3 reviews are out, to fit the shift of focus to next year.
The system requirements really aren't that bad imo. I can't link wikipedia, but it allows for Windows XP-7 (of course 8 later on).
1.) Whenever you're creating a review a caption is made next to the overall score that states: "__/10 / not an average". I'm not being arm-twisted to use my calucator and round up to the nearest 1/10th with every review. That's just not how it works, nor should it work that way.
2.) Even though I thought I stated it perfectly in the review, I'm going to restate why this remake has a 9.0/10 : When observing the sum of its parts, this games screams...
Certainly sorry to if you find my review to come across as a "flame bait review". I truly didn't intend for it to be delivered in such a manner. I must also point out that others considering a 7.7 to be a "joke" of a score should really contemplate what that means. Whether you know my review history or not, I like to review games harshly and as empirically as possible; furthermore, it encourages me to look empirically at games with a microscope, thus making me a bet...
Certainly has the potential. This has to be the most competitive year of this gen for GOTY, just narrowly beating 2007 imo.
On the bright side, at least it makes the holiday season.
Well...at least they kept their word for it releasing this holiday season, albeit the very last weeks of the holiday season.
^ Better question: How do you find mediastudies' post to insinuate anything about speculating on a price drop?
All $150 Kinects come with Kinect Adventures and Child of Eden. This is a terribly misinformed post.
Although we'll have to agree to disagree on the overall score (obviously), I'd like to point out that I try to consider the whole 1-10 spectrum AND I'm sure the MAJORITY of the FPS veterans will enjoy this game.
-I know people could still have "foam in their mouth" (not saying you do) for MW2, but I do my best for empirically examining what it does for both the series and genre at the time. It answered all of my problems with the first MW by adding co...
We get it. Your first post pointed out you don't like the game.
I don't think that's how it should be regarded. R2's co-op has a serperate story, but relevant to singleplayer campaign. You play through the same locations as the SP, follows the same story, and is structed with objectives. It should be considered since some of the reviewers even called it a 'co-op campaign'.
After buying Flow and Flower, my hype level is probably tied for the highest it's even been for an arcade game (Banjo-Kazooie heading over to XBLA being the game it's tied with).
