There's also a difference between story and storytelling. With a username including Tarantino, you'd think this would be evident.
At best, GT has an official rival? How has that not been the case since Forza 1 (quality-wise)?
Before slandering a game and insinuating that a poster doesn't read, I'd recommend trying to make an actual arguement. As stated in my first reply, reading lines from AW's book elevated the sense of atmosphere and anticipation for the combat to come, thereby counting as a gameplay element. This is something that has been agreed upon by other Alan Wake threads.
There's been a few this-gen titles that have made us rethink what playing a videogame is, and A...
Personally, I'd say he shouldn't bother making these sorts of comments. Critics analyizing Halo 4 under a more powerful microscope should be expected given the over-saturation of that genre this gen. It's not the scrutiny is developer-focused, rather whether it will, or will not, live up to 2012 FPS standards like Halo 3 did.
I'll agree on the good characters part :P. I think it was an above-average game for its time with some endearing, if expected, characters.
Developer of Halo Wars, you say? Consider this now on my wishlist (the 9.0 helps as well :P).
"God forbid your system dies out of warranty"
Isn't this point moot with removable harddrives? Or can they actually track the exact 360 console you initially dl'd the game to?
1. I never "defend" Kinect in this statement, only correcting you when you specifically stated "...this is why everything is on rails..." in your first post.
2. I never stated Rise of Nightmares was good. How could you get that from my reply?
Unsurprisingly, I get disagrees for something that factually disproves part of Tanir's first post. *rolls eyes* That's n4g for you.
"this is why everything is on rails..."
Rise of Nightmares (Kinect exclusive) is not on-rails.
You're encouraging possible future American PS3 buyers to make a purchase based on the past? Kind of ironic :P
- "remedy overlooked gameplay variety"
I would love to insert a "Not sure if you're serious" Joker pic here, considering we're talking about the makers of Max Payne. I contend that the notes littered throughout the game count as an aspect of the gameplay since it elevated the suspense, which tailored to creating a better atmosphere.
-What we saw with Resistance 2 is a sequel that sold much less than it's predecessor
-LittleBigPlanet went on to sell like gangbusters after the price dropped soon after its release.
-What we're seeing now with Resistance 3 is founded since it's selling a slower rate than Resistance 2, despite more PS3's being in the market.
-Everyone knows Uncharted 3 doesn't need to sell 3 mil. overnight for us to know it was a com...
I did not know some of the facts presented when it comes to looting. Though I thought this was impossible, I'm even more hyped for Star Wars: TOR now.
*KOTOR 2 SPOILERS*
I still like KOTOR 2's ending (in some regards) because it leaves it up to the viewer to interpret some of Traya's predictions. It certainly a spit in the face in many aspects, but most could've been removed had we ACTUALLY SEEN KOTOR 3 ANNOUNCED!
This is essentially why I find Alan Wake to be so underrated.
Although I can appreciate the influx of information through comedy, people should really STFU when it comes to Lucas doing what he wants to do with THE SERIES HE CREATED. If you look at his history for encouraging independency in film-making, you'll know he's one of those who's bent over backwards to encourage the plethora of fan films we have today.
If fans have the right to make additions to the Star Wars universe, don't you think "The Maker" ...
Wow, beta reviews? Battlefield 3 would've sunk into the red on metacritic if they were counted :P (in reference only to 360, not sure about other 2 platforms).
Solid review imo, and perfect timing with 3 around the corner.
Although my vote doesn't count, the two Deus Ex: HR reviews by cgoodno and Guns really stood out in the descriptive department.
If you're able to spoil a awesome scripted plane scene and still garuntee more to come, you know you have an awesome product.
