One of the most thorough reviews I've seen of it thus far (which is really saying something considering how many have shown a great effort in talking about all the details).
And I'm practically exhausted after seeing that intense chase scene in the beginning.
Microsoft bought Twisted Pixel back in late '11.
Sony bought Sucker Punch back in '11 as well.
My artistic eye will be able to tell there's 65,000 less emotion. :P
If I could have something like a bubble vote for blogs (that'd be a interesting idea for the new site), I'd certainly mark this one as helpful. Nicely done, Panda.
Good heavens! It's been a long time since you last made a blog. o_o
"I’m playing a game called Battlestation Pacific."
That's an interesting choice. I wanted to grab that in the near future once I burned some hours into Midway. Maybe I'll get it in time to catch him online. (^▽^)
That's basically addressed right at the beginning.
Edit: In response to those below at well.
Sean Bean getting paid for something in which he doesn't get killed?
I..I didn't know he accepted such roles (voice-over or otherwise).
Recently grabbed Myst: Masterpiece Ed. and Riven on steam. Really excited to try these gems out.
I heard Monaco: What's Yours is Mine is pretty darn good.
lol Actually a made a mistake there. I busted out the tape measure and it's almost exactly 3 inches tall (so roughly 8 cm).
Still annoying especially when considering the size of the case. Leads you to believe you'd get a figurine that would fill in the rest of the case like Bioshock's.
30 centimeters?!?! Ubi cheaped out on the US version of that and gave us a 2-disc collection (game, extras), a ~3cm figurine, and a thin comic all in this big tin case.
I've never understood why people get so frazzled at the .1 increments to begin with. I've always enjoyed using that method since it's replicating the grading standard I've been weighed under for most of my life. Just like I could get 75's or 92's, why can't games get a similar treatment?
I've seen/heard others in the industry bring up the issue as well. Still, his response to those foul comments was spot-on imo. Even going so far to question if Feedbackula may have encouraged that kind of attitude in some subtle way was pretty darn impressive.

Overused gif, but necessary.

"There is immense evidence to the contrary: such as the proliferation of M rated violent video game sales inversely proportionate to violent crime trends. Meaning, as more and more M rated games are sold, crime has decreased."
There certainly are great rebuttals to make to his claim, but that example isn't one of them.
I'd really like to dive into more games on that list soon (didn't even know flOw was free on PC).
Despite not liking Dear Esther, I'm surprised I came away liking arty-house type games Everyday The Same Dream and Passage. Those aren't mentioned on the list but I'd recommend trying them out.
Quite a detailed review, Val.
Seeing as how soon this popped up since GTA V's release date, did you find a store that broke the street date or something?
And I also caught wind of me being so popular that I'm in the game. Go me! :D
"Ocean breathes salty"
That's a great song.
Although it's been a terribly long time since I've played it, I honestly didn't enjoy myself quite to the extent everyone else did when it came out. The pacing was probably part of the problem.
I want to buy this one very soon. Hoping for it to pop up during XBL's sale around Christmas.
