Although this examination does come off as interesting and...heartfelt (if that works here)--and has now tempted me to try out Gone Home (already bought) and this Analogue series (never heard of until now), I have to admit the whole game/non-game debate in general is getting rather irritating when I see why people care so much about deciphering a term's definition that varies from person to person.
From what you may call a two-way street could be even more thoroughly comb...
Well...kinda/sorta exclusive. The Wii did "get" DR1 as well, but it so fails to capture what the game is all about that videogame historians are probably going to white it out anyway. :P
"However the lack of freedom with alignment just feels poor, you’re pretty much forced to be good or evil to get the best stuff which can alienate players who want to be neutral as a bounty hunter for the sake of role playing."
And you grabbed SWTOR when it went F2P? I recall Bioware handling that a long time before that model took shape (unless something's different now).
You had no choice in stating that. :P

I will buy him!
Actually, The Pentagon removed ban on women in combative roles earlier this year.
Life is like a hurricane here in Duckburg...
I can understand why writer used that term. It's not that all you could do was shoot in Conviction, it's just that what you typically had to do demanded shooting.
I did experience a few great stealth moments in the game, though.
Yeah, that's the unfortunate reality of many greats around the time of its original release: ultimately short game stretched out by an increased difficulty. It still looks great though.
Guess I have a lot to look forward to in TLOU. ^^
To me, it was just the paring down of minor gripes I had with UC2 that made me enjoy 3 a bit more: greater focus on melee than the sub-par stealth, preferred the beginning and end gameplay setups more, etc. A shame the plot behind ship chapters in the middle were just there in complete service to the action. :/
@yewles
Would I be correct in predicting TLOU would be your next one? If so, congrats on beating me to it. I also planned on doing a reviewing spr...
Response to -Mezzo-: "Just imagine how much more of a thanks you'd get if you wrote blogs and did user reviews and won those as well?"
You're not getting my thanks now!!!
"Something winningly clever."
How about this: What happened as a result of the Stamp Act? The Americans licked the British!
July contest, revolves around someone winning, and it's clever (is too, times infinity)!
Congrats, winners.
And here I was hoping to see DC characters fighting to "Summer Lovin" in the background.
:(
It's gotta be Sandy Olsson.
I think the Elf in Dragon's Crown has a question similar to your own.

"Btw, lucid dreaming is like dreaming, but when it happens you're aware of it. thus making it very realistic, as u can control it."
That's the only kind of dreaming I experience.

For the genre this one falls under: I find it very tough to weigh in the experience part when the puzzles and platforming is even "below easy" (my meaning from first comment).
There's no difficulty settings for it.
"It's you. The rational, free thinking person that attempts an even handed approach. You're f#$kin' it up for the rest of us. People livelihoods are at stake here so get stupid or get out."

Rather fun read.
