These corporations want to make their money back. microsoft considers the 360 a success even though it was last place in terms of sales, because they grew their brand name and made a lot of money.
No, they won't. maybe, possibly by the end of 2014. but for them to sell 10 million by 2014 we'd be looking at 3 million consoles a month, with 2 other console launching in the middle of those 2 months. i'd be surprised if they made 7.5 million by their first fiscal year. but we'll see.

Speaking from a purely personal viewpoint and not a financial one? Yes he needs a break, but only to an extent. The new super games need to go. Theyve worn out theur welcome. 3d mario can stay. Its just weird how there was ONE flagship mario game on the gamecube, sunshine, and now theres already 2 on wii u (not counting luigi u) in its first year.

I was stating the wii u can do realistic games in 1080p, bayonetta 2 is an example. When he said "bayonetta" he was non chalantly referring to the sequel, since bayonetta 1 is 720p (upscaled on ps3) and its pretty obvious the ps3 couldnt run bay 2 in 1080p when it cant run god of war ascension (a great albeit worse looking game) above 720p, and cant even run that at 60 frames.

"Batonetta" has art style, but at it's core the textures, character models, and some of the settings are pretty realistic. looking at the first game, the gothic architecture is well detailed and realistic.
its a fantasy game yes, but by your logic mass effect, batman, or gears of war aren't realistic looking games.

you guys act like wii u is only running 2.5d platformers in 1080p lol. fact is there isn't ONE 2.5d plarformer from nintendo running in 1080p native (aside from rayman which is 1080p on current gen too), in fact one of the games running in 1080p native is bayonetta which has a lot going on and a realistic graphic style.

well if the wii u did come out this november, it would still have more 1080p 60 fps games coming. the reason it hasn't gotten any is because people are just porting last gen games and nintendo's only made a party game, a 2d platformer and a game that started development on the wii.

thats because you didn't have anything to compare it to. the ps3 isnt broken by any means but the 360 is just a lot faster downloading and installing stuff.

Vita and 3ds are a great combo, two of the best systems to own today.

wii u is such an original system, i think it will be the perfect companion piece to a pc or ps4, and a perfect system for a nintendo fan.
i really feel like history will look back on the wii u in positive light despite it's slow start. games like the wonderful 101, armikrog, sonic lost world, x, bayonetta 2, and all the first party nintendo stuff are really stand out titles and they possess a certain creativity and artistic flair that i find lacking these days.

You make valid points, but the thing is the market is so massive that the fact that it's declining isnt really a concern until AFTER the 3ds' successor has come out. the thing's sold nearly 40 million units in less than 3 years, and some of the most popular handheld franchises are only just now coming to it. i think that while mobile gaming has affected the market considerably, the handheld gaming big enough to progress, albeit with less success than before. ...
