rail shooters and metroid prime 3... nothing else comes to mind. the wii is one of those consoles that cant be defined by one genre, because they're so much variety on the system. just not all of it is... good.
bring back stephen russell, or change the characters name. Nothing wrong with Nakamura, this is just the role that Russell defined. its like if they changed darth vader's voice actor.
umm, level creation was in brawl. i don't know why this would surprise you. (it would be very easy and intuitive on the gamepad!)
i didn't really care for brawl's story mode, but if they took out the transition levels and narrowed it down to nice cutscenes and character battles i would really like it
the games not outsourced to namco, internal nintendo devs are working on the game, namco was brought in a la Retro for mario kart 7, to get the game on to shelves ASAP. look at it like this: brawl started development in 2005, and it took 2 and a half years to come out. this game started development in 2012 and it's obviously going to be even bigger than brawl, so the reasonable 2014 release is probably contributed to by namco's help.
sega didn't go bankrupt?
im sorry but nothing could top the ps2's sales. the competition back then was really lacking, and the thing PLAYED DVD'S IN 2000! the ps4 will dominate most likely, but it'll probably land somewhere between ps3 and ps1 in terms of sales.
but the market is shrinking. the biggest question is, what happens to the market when all the COD fans who almost exclusively play multiplayer FPS games move on?
i also think this gen will have the slowest attach rate the industry has seen.
if i remember correctly, around the end of the gamecube era nintendo said the day they stop making hardware is the day they exit the industry.
If nintendo adopted the more modern view on gaming that Sony did (ie, online play in the new mario which is sorely lacking), they'd be my favorite of the big 3 EASY.
they say they're going to open up an additional paypal account on their website that'll take additional donations should the kickstarter money not suffice
15 hours for 42,000. i think its possible... but if nintendo could top it off that'd be great.
if the eShop can become a sort of creative haven a la Dreamcast for indie devs, that'd be a nice selling point.
its just they're REALLY paranoid. it really held them back when they chose those weird formats for the gamecube and n64
Nintendo is so paranoid about piracy. its inevitable, people are hacking the wii u now.
good grief, you people are willing to believe ANYTHING bad about microsoft. where's the proof that they paid ubisoft to level the field? there is none, and most likely they based it off the inferior platform to not make people lean towards one version. you know, like they did all last gen...
Well, you can say you told me so when it happens. the fact that it's the least powerful doesn't sell it, games sell it. Either way, that argument is deeply flawed. The saturn, genesis, and dreamcast didn't outsell their powerful competitors. usually the least powerful is significantly cheaper, but for 50 bucks more i can get a ps4. so the wii u is the least powerful, but without a price drop and more games that claim is pointless.
what the hell controller is in the thumbnail
depends on what you call a "turnaround." the 3ds was selling horribly, and in time its held a dominant role as not only bestselling handheld, but the best selling console out right now. the wii u, rising from destitution into a fighting last or distant 2nd place (and let's be honest, the wii u doesn't have a fighting chance with ps4, hence why it doesn't try to) isn't something i'd call remarkable.
the 3ds can ride its 2013 releases for a while. animal crossing is already one of the bestselling games on the system. let 2014 be the year of the wii u nintendo!
i feel like these lists are made based on the character's legacy and influence, not personality and personal impact.
like mario or link is incomparable to someone like samus or snake because those are dynamic, rounded characters.
on those grounds i'd say samus, snake, bayonetta, james sunderland, banjo and kazooie, SHODAN, andrew ryan, and glados are my favorites.
