Actually the original xbox was powerhouse in the day. Thing ran pc ports like deus ex invisible war, half life 2, doom 3, thief 3. Miles ahead of ps2 graphically.
The xbox one will have a nice bunch of games, look at all the studios under their belt this gen. But they cant pretend theyre nintendo and get away with gimping the console for the sake of kinect.
No bias here, no siree.
Looking forward to it :P

I dont think the online infrastructure is the issue, look at X and monster hunter, both handle coop great. I think they just needed to get 3d world out the door for the holidays.
They were hardly supportive in the first place. Blacklist on wii u is a mess even after a month of patches, AC 3 was a launch title that still didnt get dlc, AC 4 will apparently lack features. It really says somethinh when your biggest 3rd party supporter is this nonchalant.
They made Zombi U which was actually pretty successful with 600,000 sold (especially for a launch title) but it apparently didnt even break even. Where the budget went i dont know, graphics looks pretty bad, long...
i hope the supposedly almighty upscaler they have is good for their sake.
its not the end of the console but it's a terrible start
ZombiU sold 600,000 copies. Thats decent for a launch game, and it appears to have a lasting shelf life too. The game has poor graphics, no online features at all, its about 10 hours long and that's all there is. Where this massive budget went i have no idea, all i know is a lot of wii u owners bought that game.
But HOW DO YOU KNOW the returns will be nothing when your judgement is based on late ports even if good (NFS:MS, mass effect 3, batman arkham city) or the game is a bad po...
Yamauchi has only been dead a month and hasnt had a significant voice in the company for a long time.
He of all people would approve iwata seeing how he looked at the industry as a buisinessman not a gamer and iwata's made more money in under 10 years than the company has ever made...
@stuna1
Nintendo consider the Gamecube and N64 successes because in the end they made money. The generation is longer because Sony and Microsoft were bleeding money for the first few years of this gen. Nintendo was probably ready to cut the wii by 2011 but people weren't ready for new systems (many still aren't). Really all nintendo systems except the nes weren't in stores for much longer than a year after their successors came along. I imagine part of the motivation to pu...
Are you serious people? This fallacious troll has an even ratio of agrees and disagrees?
The n64 was not a flop. 34 million units and high profits is not a flop in the slightest. The gamecube may have sold bad but it still has tons of great games and made nintendo a profit. Isn't that all we should care about anyway, whether or not a system gets good games for US? The wii u's sales are nintendo's problem not ours, we got tons of great games coming. This gen will last at l...
yeah i hope they go for a more realistic but campy look like assault or fox's brawl model.
Unless it's by Treasure or Platinum games :D
Am i the only one that sees sony's (probable) near market monopoly as a double edged sword? I mean yeah a ton of great games all in one place, but sony's domination led to their underhanded, anti-developer techniques to try and maintain their position. Devs were forced to learn the ps2's own language, and the cell in the ps3 screwed both consumers AND developers. You guys can pretend sony loves you and microsoft is the devil all you want, but you give ANY big corporation that muc...
They have done this before, im not sure if they do it bi annually though.
Yeah... they also said 45 million 3ds's. I mean thats the best selling system out and its still well below 40. Theyre predictions are always just way too big.
I predict 5.5 million, 6 at the most. And thats being generous.
The Wii u's comeback is about as glorious as the vita's... when youre at the bottom of the charts you can only go up. Both systems are selling bad and slowly gaining ground, unfortunately the wii u is not a handheld so even though they fixed the software problem quicker than sony, the results will be slower than the vita which is also starting to get software but costs a lot less and is part of a bigger market.
I cant tell if your directing that at me or your off on some soliloquy, but the 360s japanese performance hasnt been a talking point since the thing launched. It was out of the game from the get-go.
Also i said the 3ds and 2ds (which i still believe was introduced to negate a loss on the wii u like the gba/gamecube) and software sales are what would keep nintendo afloat this FY. Forgive me if you werent directing that at me, you were kind of incoherent.
I doubt they will report a loss with 3ds and software sales as they are.
Will have to see
Yes but then i wont have them sitting in the wii u menu and i'll have to play them with that derpy classic controller instead of the wii u pro or gamepad.
I just switch the output to 480i and my tv to fullscreen. A quick option would be nice
Seriously.
The wii had n64 games and genesis at launch, 1 year in and we havent moved beyond nes and snes
@deafdani
I'm not saying the game is bad, it's pretty good. I'm just wondering why over half a million copies sold didn't even break even. Considering the game had none of those features, (whether or not theyd make the game better) i couldn't help but wonder where the money went.
