NoA will probably keep it and the DS for one last holiday. Hopefully that will help the distinction of the 3ds and wii u as their own platforms.

jesus look at those 3ds sales! considering the 3ds will probably have a longer lifespan than the ds i wonder where it'll sit compared to that system in the long run.

im referring to the ps4 outselling the wii u (around 4 million units) by christmas which is ridiculous. 5 million by march is at least possible but even sony arent predicting to outsell the wii u by christmas.

do you people honestly think they'll sell 5 million consoles in 4 months, with it not coming out til feb. 14th in japan?! historically last gen outsells current gen for quite some time, so the 360 and ps3 would be selling more. this would beat wii records, a system that had a strangle hold on the 2007-2008 sales partly because it was half the price of the competition. ps4 will sell the most but the xbox fanbase is still big enough to compete. as for the wii u, still a ...
generations was like a 3 hour game, bland writing, terrible final boss and very poor stage selection (green hill and seaside hill for the millionth time?!). i dont get why people like generations, and this is coming from a sonic fan.
colors was where it's at... it was a longer game, well written mostly, and very original gameplay with the power ups, unlike the overly speed heavy generations and unleashed.
i think they were right in putting the focus back on platforming and...
yeah i know, even their 3ds sales are over optimistic and thats the best selling console out right now. they were hoping for 45 million 3ds's and im not even sure if they have 40 yet. their sales projections are always just ridiculous.
as for 5 million ps4s by FY 2014, i dont know about that either. i would predict a bit less than 4 million, theres just a lot of competition with xbox one and it's having a late arrival in japan too.
the ps4 and xbox one wont beat the wii u by christmas, but they easily surpass it by the end of 2014

To be fair its still got a 61 on metacritic, the wii u version anyway. Even these guys gave the wii u version an 89. I think its just the 3ds version (which i dodnt have high hopes for, being made by dimps).
I think it'll just be a polarizing game.
The gameplay in this is literally nothing like the other sonics. That seems to be WHY some people dont like it.
Opinions are opinions, but they outright refuse to learn the way games work sometimes, and are too rushed to do so anyway. I'll wait for the little guys to review this, as i did for w101 which payed off.
Famitsu gave it a 9, ive seen a fair amount if 8's and higher. After w101 and beyond 2 souls i am wary to trust a lot of mainstream reviewers, especially with the negatives they cite. I'll wait until the independent reviewers talk.
Back in the genesis days sonic was about platforming not speed. If you wanted to go fast you had to be good. I will need to play this game myself, reviews are all over the place

It didnt bomb, in the end nintendo made a profit from the system and it sold loads of software. That's hardly bombing.
Yeah thats true, but the console wont sell 2.5 what it's sold in a year by 2014. that's a fact.

Whether or not nintendo is financially successful with the wii u, 2014 will be a great year with smash, donkey kong, mario kart 8, x, bayonetta 2, possibly smt x fe, along with all the multiplatforms and indies.
