Many PC games have 64 bit executables (you can have both!) but it doesnt matter. Any serious PC gamer with any serious technology oriented game will be 64 bit ready if the game needs to be. This isn't 2005. Something like 70 percent of machines on steam are already running on a 64 bit OS. Won't even be an issue for most Pc gamers.

It was the same thing like oh noesss DX10 onlyyyy. By the time these DX10 only games started appearing regularly the tech was so widespread...

Saying 7850 is midrange isnt arrogant or stupid, denying it is!!!!

7850 sits in the middle of the current AMD range.

starting at the top- 7990, 7970 gigahertz, 7970, 7950 boost, 7950, 7870XT, 7870 gigahertz, then finally we get to 7850. Its 7 cards from the top and 8 from the bottom. You cant even buy the bottom 5 separately from a shop because they are OEM and only come fitted to pre built machines.

Lets bear in mind that PS4 aint here yet u...

What matters is sustaining sales, rather than taking a few months in isolation, or launch windows.

Wii U has the benefit of no 'next gen' competition right now. It is difficult or impossible to really tell how well the long term future of the console will work out based on sales with less than 6 months of data around.

PS4 is not monstrously fast. Its base GPU, the important chip, is about as fast as a PC GPU that launched a year ago and was technically made midrange 9 months ago in AMD's lineup. If PS4 launches November and then next year for all territories, it'll be lower midrange by then.

By comparison when Xbox 360 launched its GPU would have been the fastest in the world only 6 months before it arrived.

PS4 is still a jump over the existing generation which wi...

HSA is good as a concept but not a big deal right now for these consoles. Nextbox and Ps4 are not full HSA.

In the short term it is meaningless. It is literally meaningless for anyone who is aiming to build a medium to high end gaming PC inside the next 18 months.

In 18 months it might have more interest on the PC scene but it wont happen overnight.

It is interesting you mentioned Intel because very little works without the backing of intel i...

Not you again dcbronco.

Waffling on about your HSA jargon like it is some magical super advanced mega gain that will boost Ps4 to the stars.

We have seen the gain from APUs versus discrete on Pc. It is minimal no matter what is done with it. http://www.tomshardware.com... Discrete always wins on performance. It will when it comes to P...

True gumtrol but then the last of us is a PS3 exclusive so you cant run it with any PC specs.

You cant run SimCity on PS3.

We are such a long way from 7800GTX now. 7800GTX actually ran a lot of games better than PS3 did back ye olden days 2006. Elder Scrolls 4 and FEAR ran better on a good Pc with a 7800GTX.

Ps3 came out after Geforce 8800. Blew away Ps3 in truth.

Your point about future PC hardware is no point at all in terms of relevance to what Ps4 is today and will be in 3 or 4 years.

All PS4 is getting is two tiny Jaguar quad core CPUs welded together, dumped on a die next to a GPU with modern architecture with interconnect, neither component of which will set the world alight.

PC already has the fusion/APU concept for years.

PS4 is merely another step, an extension by adding fairly significant GP...

But who cares right now dcbronco?

Technology moves on but the Ps4 hardware is now virtually set in stone. Are you trying to talk about what Ps4 is and will be this year, or what the future of APUs are for computer technology in 3 or 4 years?

It sounds more like you are trying to give a lecture on computing hardware for maybe 3 or 4 years from now, which bears no relevance to Ps4 now or even in the future.

Ps4 is fixed, and APU technology gain...

APUs are of particular interest to console because they combine simplicity with power and cost efficiency. They are also excellent for a huge percentage of the people who use PC for work, or browsing or office for similar reasons.

They aren't that interesting for core PC gamers right now though. Thats cos discrete hardware will be faster and it will stay that way for years n years. The disads of having discrete is that it is more expensive and less power efficient. Two di...

You're talking rubbish starchild. Probably why you only have one bubble.

PC games have been superior technically for years. Games dont even have to be high end on current Pc hardware to trounce what is on Ps3.

Textures, lighting and geometry not being better on Pc?

Please, get real. Consoles rarely use better than 512 x 512 textures where 1024 x 1024 is extremely common for Pc versions and 2048 x 2048 more common now as well. Ps3, 360 str...

I saw more people saying PS4 kicks PC azz!

Than people saying PC kicks PS4 azzz!

Not that it matters if they did say that. PS4's hardware is solid if unspectacular. What matters is what games the developers will create on it, and whatever they do create will benefit PC gamers hugely because of the similarities in hardware....

John Carmack happy with a Sony Console? Must have done something right lol

Yes Sony have just basically built a PC here with extremely flexible and familiar hardware to anyone that has worked with a PC.

Whatever PS4 can do, PC can probably already do it. It just needs to devs to step it up for most PC versions.

Watchdogs for example- nothing I saw there couldn't be done on EXISTING pc hardware. Hell when it was first shown last year people were impressed, but their heads weren't exploding like omggg how is this possible! We know it is possible on PC already.

If I am truthful, same goes for any game you care to point out.

The key being 'at this time'.

When the current range of PC GPUs are due to be refreshed before PS4/Next box come out, end of this year for PS4 (hoiday 2013).

By the time PS4 arrives PC already moves on a little bit more with better bang for buck every generation.

PS4 has something like a Radeon 7850 in it, which costs maybe $200. It is about as fast as a GTX570 was 18 months ago, which cost like $350. GTX295 was comparable to GTX570, ...

I think it looked ok. I mean i think Driveclub was more impressive graphically.

I will openly admit I am a PC gamer and at the risk of taking a serious bashing in the middle of a PS4 loving frenzy, Killzone SF doesn't really look better than a nice looking PC shooter around now, like BF3 on ultra, or Metro 2033 maxed, or Crysis 2/3 maxed on PC. In other words it doesn't blow away existing PC titles on good PC hardware.

I saw the stream and watched the...

The best looking best running version is the PC version. Because Wii U might use some similar PC assets, but PC can still do twice the resolution and twice the framerate for butter smooth racing.

That figures for 4 times the performance of Wii U just for that.

I don't know why anyone would be so upset. So its 5 months old. good if you haven't played it, not so good for the millions that already did last year. Not exactly a system seller.

I think it is the fact its like nearly 5 months after all the other versions and nobody would care a lot unless they only have a Wii U because they probably already played it if they really wanted it.

I expect more and better from Wii U and can't get excited over an old port with some tweaks- dont think am the only one with this in my mind either. It isn't going to make anyone rush out and buy the console.

It is encouraging in that it edges the other ...
