So the Microsoft flagship tier racing game focused on collecting cars and "building them" had a game breaking bug when you buy a new car or upgrade to "build them."

Genius.

Wow. They showed it two months ago with PS5 footage and it looked ok. They put this out and some of the scenes here on PC look absolutely incredible. Probably the best looking most detail dense world I have seen in a video game.

Microsoft's SKU strategy has clearly failed. The sales disparity to PS5 point to this. It was a mistake then and it's looking worse each day that passes and they're tied to this legacy machine that undeniably is now holding back insanely massive titles like Baldur's Gate.

This isn't going to go away or get better. It absolutely will only become a worse problem on more games as focus moves more to this generation (finally) and UE5 titles and the like beco...

Configurable emulators. Many of these games look pretty great and you can pump up the settings

I played the beta and it came across as a poor man's Forza Horizon unfortunately. It has copied FH nearly play for play. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. It's a very beautiful game with great lighting, immaculate car models and nice detail.

However it comes up short in most key areas that really matter, particularly the handling model. The handling in the end made the game feel more like an Outrun than a modern racer. You do not feel real weight...

PS5's RT performance mode which is the best compromise for the console is roughly equivalent on PC to something like 1080p, high preset, RT reflections on, 40FPS.

In this mode on PS5 it runs in a resolution window between 1080p and maximum 1440p, but the reconstruction is not as good as DLSS.

DLSS is noticeably better than the custom solution used on PS5 so the image quality comes out better at comparable resolutions. Especially with ray tracing enabl...

PS5 is about as fast as the 2070 Super on this, which at this point is a four year old graphics card. It came out 16 months before PS5 even hit the market. I would say that's pretty good news for anyone with anything better.

I love the fact that a modern PC can now play all top title Xbox games, most top Playstation titles within just a couple years of their launch, and emulate Switch titles very well at this point.

I can (and do) go from Flight Sim t...

Its a beta so you get issues. It works fine for me. 1440p everything on ultra, locked to 60FPS because of the settings and it only uses about 60 percent of an RTX4070.

Actually Metal Gear Solid 4 had about thirteen minutes of of HD video at the very start of the game, but the point was the 7.1 soundtrack throughout was uncompressed. Eight channels. This was a massive chunk of the data on the disc. The game had 8 hours of cut scene audio alone. Plus music and dialogue codecs and everything else actually in game!

It wouldn't be very hard to compress all this down to far smaller file sizes with minimal quality loss. It certainly wasn'...

MGS4 is about 32GB. Most of the big data files were merely uncompressed audio and high quality HD video used extensively in MGS4. The game used the space because it was available, not because it really needed to.

You could probably more than halve the space required settling for normal 360 compression codecs and say 720p compressed video files. Fit the whole game on two dual layer DVD discs.

Case in point was MGSV ended up only 25GB, despite that game hav...

The SN850X is also kind of overkill for PS5 as well.

Any of the masses of models the tier below comfortably meet PS5 requirements and cost even less.

Obviously a major optimisation issue, probably a memory leak or driver issue.

I'm just confused what the problem is with my statement. You want to play RDR2 with 60FPS and high resolution and much better quality? Then you can do it- on PC. It's not impossible like Rockstar are denying that opportunity to you.

So you bought a PS5 or whatever else instead then ok, you can't. You also can't play Halo or whatever either. Just your choice I guess. That's life.

Works fine on PC in 4K and 60FPS. DLSS also makes it more accessible.

The game is designed to run on an 8 year old Xbox One which wasn't fast when it was new.

Pretty sure any PC with the minimum specs quoted there will smash that, 1050Ti is miles faster than Xbox One.

Recommended specs are roughly equal to Series X performance, no surprise there. The 3700X is basically the CPU inside a Series X albeit boosting up somewhat faster as the obvious example.
