Android, blackberry and iphone have pushed microsoft completely out the game the past year. I dont see a way back for them
Agent....? Where? When?
1m sales in ten days. 46 days until the end of the year. So in order to break 5m sales by the end of this year, kinect must sell about 87k a day. 870k every ten days. Or about 600k a week every week until the end of the year.
Hmmmm....im unsure if kinect can manage this. That means sustaining only slightly lower than launch week numbers with all those pre-orders!
I honestly do not believe that after the black friday retail rush this will be possible, or e...

Too busy cosplaying and not ensuring her house insurance is in order with a whole bunch of smokin hot electricals inside?
For shame
It is staggering and kind of sad to see in late 2010 people like MeatPopsicle spouting nothing but inane garbage and personal insults without justifying themselves.
It would be one thing if people like Meatpopsicle were just parroting the bullshit spread by the idiots fanboys who post on sites like Sony defence force back in 2005.
But late 2010?
You would think anyone not entirely braindead would have after five years realized all this ...
Ahhhhh dear. Where to start.
I was aware RSX has access to the entire memory pool, but most developers rarely use this ability, because there is a bandwidth penalty to be had. In any case, it doesnt make it at all possible for RSX to use more than a few megabytes extra whereas a dedicated Pc card that has 512mb memory can use it all for video.
CELL is actually not faster at vertex shading than any GPU, just RSX. The reason vertices are shifted onto CELL i...
Cell is not a GPU. Its not faster than RSX or Xenos with shader code. They have very specialised long render pipelines. Its what they are specifically designed to do.
RSX has a faster core and shader speed than 7900GT but half the bus bandwidth and half the memory bandwidth, with half the ROPs. As a result its effectively slower than a 7900GT. RSX also has 256mb, 7900GT was most commonly sold as 512mb versions. It certainly wouldnt share 7900GT's performance characteris...
Is mind boggling nvidia 8800 was out before PS3. Meant there was plenty of time to make such a chip for PS3. I know Ps3 was delayed becos of bluray diodes, but still to launch a year after xbox 360 with a lesser graphics unit is weird and shouldnt have happened. Gotta blame someone for that.
I was never a huge fan of frontline but played it and was impressed. A year later though call of duty came out on PC and it was the better game by a long way, it also looked astounding for the time on a good PC when the consoles were still in SD.
It still holds up well today, just download it on XBL/PSN and see. I still have it on PC and play it time to time
I think its naive if you think Ghostbusters was truly built for PS3 first and foremost. If it was, it would surely be optimised for 720p on PS3 and the visuals would reflect that fact. In a conversion to 360, the extra effects would be added on top and there would be spare performance going by what happened. You aim for 1280 x 720 on the host platform, how can you miss so badly unless you are targeting the engine's performance with a different platform in the mix....?
I'll be...
PS3 IS more powerful. PS3's peak performance is greater than that of 360s. 360s is just more usable and flexible across varying techniques. PS3 is an F1 car, 360 is a rally machine. On anything but smooth tarmac the rally car is going to have the advantage, on smooth tarmac then the F1 car will be untouchable and reach levels of performance a rally car could only dream of....
This is why PS3 code ports onto 360 without too much difficulty, but the other way round requir...
Terrible port. Always gonna be the pc version for me though, its only 18 pounds in the uk. That it will be better than the console versions is a given. 50 quid video card says so.
Meh
Yaaaay tyre smoke. Take note Turn 10. Scribble that on your to do list. Drifting makes tyre smoke, quite a lot of it....
I'll play Gears in april but the rest of the list is frankly poor when it comes to reasons to turn on 360 specifically instead of Pc or PS3. I hope microsoft can come up with better than this. Kinect forza seems stupid to me, why is it better spending so much to play with an air steering wheel when i can pay half as much for really good, ACTUAL steering wheel and pedals??? No idea who would be dumb enough to want that.
See what kingdoms looks like but i dont see anythin...
Its not the greatest but its not bad. I did however suffer quite a few hiccups and some moments of enormous slowdown in the campaign, never seen that in a halo game before. At the end of the third mission walking up to the top of the building with the banshees the game turned into a slideshow and i mean like 15 frames a second for like 20 seconds. I was wondering what the heck was going on. This wasnt the only incident either where the framerate took a massive hit for an extended period.
Yeah 3 wasnt exactly a looker in the first place and reach is only a mild massage of the engine, they have had three whole years to improve it so im not exactly blown away. All those high scores for graphics are a bit stupid really, its a nice colourful game but not one of the best looking games this generation.
Cut scenes just dont count, because you can lock theier framerate low and add better effects even if they are rendered locally. In gameplay the difference is not dr...
I respect your right to an opinion outrageous but there is a reason you only have one bubble
So the sequel is finally here. 50 year old virgin. Goddamn weaboos
