Yes, you changed the topic when I called you out. My other comments were not directed at you or apt to your initial post/the article.
There is no real relevance to what people thought of PS3 6 years ago against 360 compared to what they think of Wii U so many years later when the situation is completely different, namely, Wii U is supposed to be a next gen console to that machine (PS3 wasn't) and the likes of Nintendo have the bare faced cheek to say it'll stand up gr...
I am perfectly calm, but your excuses are inane. You want to learn to wake up to reality.
Since when did hinting it was coming then confirming it was coming over a year ago mean it WASN'T in development? Do you think EA 'a few months' ago suddenly remembered they were making it for Wii U?
You are grasping at straws. It is plainly obvious this has been in the works for well over a year. All indications back me up and refute your claim.
It's a port that was done in a few months you say.
O rly.
EA hinted at it in June 2011. It was basically confirmed over a year ago, in October 2011 AT THE SAME TIME AS ALL THE OTHER PLATFORMS when they said a next gen platform i.e Wii U. http://mynintendonews.com/2...
So what do I expect? I expec...
Pretty good :( what for a port onto 7 years newer, more expensive hardware?
I'd say not.
"but across the overall run of play it's somewhat disappointing to see a vintage 2005 console with slower GPU and less RAM match and indeed exceed the quality of the experience found on the brand new Nintendo hardware.
Regardless of the fact that the game has been farmed out to another developer, and irrespective of the state of the current W...
Nintendo may as well have stuck a modern ARM processor in there to be honest. If it is really just a triple core overclocked version of Wii's CPU then it is a piece of crap relative to modern designs.
Nintendo properly cheaped out here. They could have chosen literally any CPU design they wanted. Any ARM, any AMD x86. Any of IBM's modern parts.
But no. They looked at the ancient chip inside Wii and decided to trick it out with some wheel spinners and ...
Yup. Was worth the millions of dollars investing in that automatic sunglasses creation tool for devs in the Wii U SDK.
I can just see the next Top Gun game being a Wii U exclusive because other consoles simply can't do aviators nearly as well.
Well if Wii U has as good a framerate as Xbox 360 but runs at a higher native resolution which we might find out soon for sure, then Wii U has the best console graphics for this game.
Does look higher rez. Could still be 880 x 720 tho like 360 and ps3 and be claimed by activision as 'native 720p' cos well...they are sneaky like that.
I don't think thats really the point being made here Quetzil.
The point as I see it is that Mass effect 3 is already like the 3rd game in the series on Xbox 360, and so it is fairly well advanced graphically.
Even so would you expect Wii U to struggle at all with that? When Xbox 360 launched would you expect it to struggle with a straight up port of ANY Xbox or PS2 game? Of course not!!!!!!
Wii U should comfortably run ME3 right away. I m...
Generally......yes. Inferior flexibility certainly. PS3 has less available/flexible memory and a slower/less flexible, older architecturally GPU.
The only way to work around this to achieve parity is invest more time, money and effort into the PS3 version. This effort is needed to extract extra graphical performance from an unconventional method, i.e PS3's CPU.
For developers with a budget equally split for multiplatform games where they want to spend the...
You need to read the article nukeitall. Black Ops 2 certainly doesnt manage 60fps half of the time especially on PS3, and it isnt 1280 x 720 its 880 x 720 which is only two thirds the resolution.
Anyone else? Treyarch havent done what you said here lol
At the risk of being called out for trolling....it is hard to ignore this paragraph:
"Visually, Ninja Gaiden 3 is hardly going to make your PS3 and Xbox-owning friends envious. In fact, Razor’s Edge is arguably uglier than its cousins, with bland textures and a bad case of the “jaggies” combining to create a muddy look that would’ve been called out seven years ago during the Xbox 360’s launch. Still, the framerate stays (mostly) smooth"
Ummmmmm. I a...
"You may as well say PC is better because consoles can only be played on TV's slouched on sofas and that ruins your posture."
HAHA soooooo true. That claim about PC has been going ad infinitum as if most of the PC gamers I know can't play either on a monitor or a HDTV. It is 2012 peeps. PC gamers don't sit with their noses pressed to a 12 inch green and black TTL.
Classic article you see all the time here that makes me SMH people still e...
To be fair, Sony and Microsoft could probably just pump the clocks on their current hardware, shove another gig of RAM on their motherboards and call it next gen cos it'll be as fast as what Wii U is.
You think I'm joking but I would bet with the newer lower leakage semi conductor processes Microsoft could probably run 360's CPU and GPU at 50 percent higher clocks without even breaking sweat.
What i wanna know if Wii U is really that good and that much faster than ps3/360 why cant it even do Mass Effect 3 in 1080p native resolution? http://www.cinemablend.com/...
Thats pathetic. It isnt really that much faster than ps3 and 360. A bit yeah, but not a lot. Dont give me that devs need to learn bullcrap either, it doesnt take a lot of raw grunt to make 1080p wor...
It is true, by saying 'not entirely true' yourself you are not confident you are correct. That combination of controls is not particularly innovative. In fact can't Vita and PS3 do the same thing...motion and all.
The point is thats not really very innovative or something people have not seen before in its basic premise.
The specs are not significantly better than the current generation. Indeed, you will see a mild step at best, when we will expec...
What exactly are companies meant to copy though? Touch screen gaming? Being able to use a controller with an extra screen? Its been done.
Nintendo have far less 'innovation' if you can call that with Wii U. The features they need to take off like online are already well done elsewhere.
When wii launched, I could actually understand why it sold well. It was very different. It was cheap, families loved it, it changed the way parents thought of gaming as...
Raw power is raw power and meaningless much of the time in consoles close for performance.
How you use power matters more, doesn't it always?
360 is more flexible and uses its performance better. More powerful? Not really, but powerful enough that its flexibility beats out PS3 a good 8 times out of 10 when you look at games.
If PS3's raw power was that significant then every single PS3 game should easily beat every single 360 ga...
I think it could be a tough sell because there are still very strong competitors on the market in 360 and PS3 that are cheaper, with better back catalogues and still strong titles arriving alongside Wii u's launch.
Wii U will not deliver a significant graphical leap over PS3 and 360. It does not deliver 'brand new' styles of gaming or control to anyone who has used a Wii, touchscreen phone or tablet the past 3 or 4 years.
If you are a Nintendo...
Its a simple matter of looking at the limits of current technology.
You can squeeze no more than about 1 gigaflop from a circa 50 watt graphics processor that is state of the art. Just like you cant travel across the galaxy in a few minutes in a human spaceship right now.
1 Gigaflop is 4 times Xenos in xbox 360. This is as humanly fast as AMD can make the graphics in this machine without some alien technology or a time machine to go into the future :)
Far as I can tell he is just seeing what is actually there and everyone who disagrees needs an eye test. Wii U is sharper than PS3. Deal with it.
You would have to be registered blind to not see that fact.
Honestly someone could post on here that liquid water is wet and get disagrees. Accept. Facts.
