Your "strive for better' argument. Where was that when the PS3 came out. Remember, HD gaming only starts with the release of the PS3 Sony proclaimed. Yet here we are today and so few games even break 720p without compromise.
I remember back when Sony was harping on about the emotion engine in the PS2 and what that could do for gaming. Honestly, take a reality pill as people who feast on hype and marketing end up looking foolish.
Yep. So many great games already must be the reason its flying off the shelves. Honestly, bundle in a memory card and drop the price and Vita sales problem solved.
The PS1 back catalog won't do much to generate new Vita sales but it will mean Sony can claim there are a lot more games avail for the Vita come xmas.
Now, I wonder if Sony will make it completely obvious you need to buy a memory card in order to play them.
Its not obvious at all. A list of upcoming games is one thing but an actual release of those titles and having them live up to their potential is another.
Resistance for Vita was proclaimed last year as a must have title. Yet it was a pretty run of the mill fps that only achieved greater heights because of a lack of other Vita fps games on the market. Its not a system seller. The Vita will sell when the listed titles are released and they live up to the hype. Too many hi...
3D sells only because its now included as standard in most mid range TVs.
I have been gaming since my first ZX Spectrum. Have owned many gaming consoles and computers over the years. Mobile devices are just the latest evolution in gaming.
To summarise mobile gaming to being nothing more than "angry birds" again reflects your short sightedness. I consider myself a true gamer as I appreciate games on all mediums.
I have seen art hanging in galleries that equates to being no more than a doodle on a piece of paper.
Your closed mindedness just makes you a short sighted gamer.
Touch screen gaming, be it for iOS or Android offers lots of fun and challenges to those who are after an all purpose device.
Cross buy....honestly, you have that now with minis.
I wonder, how might you think differently if it were announced that the Halo franchise was coming to the Vita.
Halo is a solid franchise which is why it sells well.
How is it with music playback? Does it finally have basic fetures like crossfade, custom playlists (not how they did it with media go on.the psp), can.you get ear buds with a remote to skip or fast forward tracks?
To suggest a control sceme is what dictates the difference between core and casual gaming is plain wrong.
Its a reflection of the fact that Sony were taking a gamble with coming out with a product with such limited appeal. The economy does not seem to be having much effect on tablet and smartphone sales which are twice as expensive.
Yeah, but the so called dead console is not exactly setting the world on fire with its sales though is it.
@bic
That's the point he's making. The 3DS eclipsed DS sales which is a good thing. I'll bet sony were hoping the the 2:1 would have been in favor of the Vita by now.
Ok, describe the difference between a core gamer and casual gamer then please.
How much gaming on Vita supports 3g? Does Resistance multiplayer work over 3g? I ask as the upcoming COD games says 4x4 over wifi.
I'm a long time playstation owner and currently have 3 PS3s and 4 PSPs in my household. As yet I am still not convinced that the Vita will sell in the numbers needed to make it a viable platform ongoing. The announcement of cross buy and some new first party exclusives have not changed my opinion. Its still simply too expensive!
The Vita simply offers me nothing but gaming which at its current price does not represent good value to me. It costs more than a PS3 which o...
Vita needs free storage especially since you need some before you can actually usemany of its features...like gaming, music and video playback.
In terms of storage Sony got it right with the Go then took a step back with the Vita.
You know, how much RAM would be required to actually produce fantastic visuals in.native 4k resolutions?
The reality will probably be that the PS4 will support 4k but the reality will be not without major compromise to visual quality. Just like the PS3 with 720p.
