I'm not so sure the "games only" message is the right one. Its what they used for the Vita and if anything that has shown us just how few people buy nowadays just based on gaming.
I'm sure the PS4 will be a great gaming console but why limit its initial appeal to a wider audience?
I agree, even if it takes a while as remote play was a feature that helped sell the original PSP and look how that turned out.
I still don't understand why its a selling point mind as there is no way I would want to dilute a 1080p gaming experience on a 50" display by playing on a handheld.
PSP Go is still my favorite last gen handheld. Was so disappointed when the Vita didn't go down a similar in terms of form factor and built in storage.
Yeah, cause the CIA have nothing better to do than watch people play games. Honestly, CIA can learn more about you from what you freely post online through a multitude or websites anyway.
I'd never heard of the original Xbox being referred to as "One" until last week's announcement. Just like I've never heard of the 360 being referred to as the Xbox 2.
This is just more fanboy nonsence to cast a negative light on the competition.
Yeah, use to be able to do that with ps3 games. Buy once and download on all 3. Then Sony changed their DLC policy so I could only download to 2. They also labelled me a pirate because who could possibly need to download to 3 systems in the same house.
I'm not saying what MS is doing is right but I think we all need to get use to it as they are just following the lead set by Apple, Steam and Android. Sony will follow suit by the end of the PS4s life cycle.
Nobody can predict what's going to happen next gen. Those who try just end up looking stupid. I mean, who predicted the success of the Wii or that the 360 and PS3 would end up with similar market share. Who also predicted that that Vita would struggle as much.
Fact of the matter is that the console market is not dictated by hardcore gamers since they number so few in relation to who actually buy consoles.
Apparently None of what you are wanting is wanted by those who play games.

Nope. Never buy at launch at launch prices.

Or you could buy the PSP or use any one of a multitude of emulators for other devices. The best reason to buy a Vita is to play Vita games.

They should call all CIA-Book and not Facebook.
More PSPs sold in NZ than Vitas over the past 12 months. The Vita hardly gets shelf space in stores in NZ even though its constantly being discounted.
What lesson?
From a purely hardware perspective what are its problems, I mean really, what are they?
Kinda like releasing gt6 on ps3.
Kinda like reducing activated systems down from 5 to 2
Kinda like forcing you to buy proprietary memory cards
MS and Sony are both in this to make money so don't think one is less profit driven than the other in that regard.
@Hammond
Exactly how was the 360 abandoned 5 years ago?
Certainly provides some perspective on paying for Live moving forward. Maintaining 300k servers is not cheap!

Its the way of the future. Hell, no one moans over not being able to on sell digitally downloaded games which cost more than retail.
Isn't GT6 just an upgrade to the GT5 engine?

At this stage I'm not excited about either. Waiting to see more games first.
