Specs no...games yes.

I think most Wii owners are more likely to jump to the Wii-U than PS3 or Xbox.

Really, a hipster? Do you represent all so called "gamers" or just those with tunnel vision?

@Danny.

To suggest a touch screen device is no good for gaming is an antiquated opinion. Touch screen gaming can be fantastic depending on the game. For instance, tower defence games play brilliantly, civilisation type games, puzzle games, etc. I play a game on my tablet called Monster Shooter and it controls brilliantly using the virtual joysticks. So does Mini-Motor.

Games need to be created to best take advantage of the controls of the device it will be...

OMG. Why would anyone buy a Vita if not for gaming. Yes the Vita can be used for other things but really? It makes a bulky walkman, have to convert all movies to work on it, no real apps and the browser is sub standard.

I would love to know who buys a Vita for everything but gaming in the day of the smartphone and tablet.

If using features is optional why would many developers support it if doing so means even tighter margins?

I finally picked up kinect over the weekend. Its everything that the ps3 eye should have been but isn't. Its the most fun I've had watching my kids play since we had the eyetoy on PS2.

A new PS3 slim, lower price....will certainly make the Vita seem even more expensive.

But will it be a system seller?

Honestly, given the sales potential of a good COD game on Vita I would have thought Sony would have played a stronger part in its development to ensure it lives up to its potential. COD could be a real game changer Vita but only if it reviews and plays well.

30 years ago using Rolls Royce to describe Sony's product quality and I'd agree. However, its more high end Toyota nowadays.

If the only way to get it working well is to be connecting directly via wifi when the PS3 is basically in the same room then its not a feature many will seriously use. I gave it a try with the PSP some time ago and played pixeljunk Monsters and quickly concluded its just a gimmick. Now, if you could copy files between devices that might be interesting.

I never played Kilzone 1 on PS2, will definitely look at getting it it for PS3.

DLC for Dead Nation is great. DLC when done right offers some great reasons to part with hard earned cash.

No matter which way you look at it the Vita has under performed thus far. This was even confirmed by Sony when they slashed sales forecasts just recently. Of course those who aleady own one will disagree, so would I if I owned one, but if the iPhone 5 rumors are true about it having a stronger emphasis on gaming then Sony's Vita will be in serious trouble.

If the Vita performs poorly this xmas then quite possibly Sony will gradually drop it in favor of the stronger and ...

So, is the getting the crown back important or not? The post above yours would suggest its not important to Sony.

The big winner this generation, like it or not, has to be MS for establishing themselves as a real player in the console gaming market. In terms of market share Sony is this generations biggest loser.

I must have misread....surely there was more than 1 PSV game in the top 100?!?

5019d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Um, you know. There is no correlation between what you have in your house and whether or not that makes Sony successful. Sony is in the gaming business to make money. The day they forecast its not in their interests to make money they will exit gaming.

5019d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment

In what world has Sony been successful this generation? Their gaming division posted a 2.8 billion loss in May of this year, the Vita is under performing and they have as yet failed to make significant inroads into the tablet market. Sony has fallen a long way since the heights of the PS2.

I dare dare say Sony will turn things around but they need to ensure they turn up the heat on the Vita this Xmas and make damned sure the PS4 does not come late to market next year. If t...

Agreed. But 3 million is global sales. Talk about misleading the reader.

Honestly, who hit disagree? Vita owners are delusional.

What I'm surprised about is that in August Sony officially announced they had sold 2.2 million units....a month later its over 3 million!?! Honestly, it sold 800,000 units in August?
