Ok, if this results in the Vita selling in big numbers like has been predicted on this site then it could at last mean the tide is turning for the Vita. If it does not translate into big sales, especially in Japan, then what can we read from it?
My son wants a Vita for Xmas or a Galaxy Nexus 7. I want to get him the safest option and at this stage is the tablet.
The reason is that its Sony's console and they can do what they like with it. Want a more customisable O/S and I'm thinking you have the wrong device.
I own both a 360 and 3 PS3s actually. Why don't you take off your a$$hole tinted glasses and grow up.
Good deal....but why?
In New Zealand one of our largest electronic retailers no longer lists the Vita on its website and the amount of in-store shelf space has been significantly reduced.
My sons both want a Vita for Xmas but my concern is that unless the Vita has a great Xmas then this time next year how many other retailers might no longer be listing it or reducing shelf space. I understand why existing Vita owners might be praising the device but for some...
The only people buying into this whole wii-u debate probably arnt going to buy one anyway. For me its about the software not the hardware.
I wonder when Sony will again proclaim that next gen only starts with the release of their new console.
And who says Sony isn't also pandering to casual gamers.
@Marcus:
I can't believe the disagrees. If you don't pay for + you don't get the free content or get to keep it if you stop paying.
+ is a good service however, I dare say that Live has been extremely profitable for MS regardless.
I wish as a + member you didn't have to buy an online pass for second hand games. That to me equates to having to pay to play online.
The "lazy developer" argument is even lazier.
Why spend more than has been forecasted in terms of sales. Game development is a business. If spending a few million more making a game wont translate into a greater profit margin then why would you?
After using the 360 browser for half an hour I have to say its pretty nice and I would actually use it over the browser on the PS3. I love the way it can be used in part using the voice control through Kinect and works in the same way as the rest of the 360 dashboard.
Can those who disagree with the above comment provide some insight as to why? All we ever hear is how tablets and smartphones don't do real gaming yet now PSM is an option touchscreen gaming is ok?
@pery:
Given some of the private messages you have sent you're obviously a Sony fanboy. Please do tell me why you didn't point out sales numbers for the Vita.
The PSP had physical controls and that didn't always get it right for some games. I actually find it easier to play a game like Meteor Blitz on a touch screen device than I did playing Super Stardust on the PSP. Games like Wordfued, Monsters Ate My Condo, Flight Control, Draw Something and Sentinel3 all play better on a touch screen device. PixelJunk Monsters, which is still my favorite casual game on PSP/PS3, would absolutely play beautifully on a touchscreen device.

How is this different than Sony coming out with multiple SKUs for the PS3?
Hardware failure is old news but in terms of betraying the hardcore gamer, both Sony and MS can claim that prize.
Good value for those who have not picked them up before. To me K2 was the best, especially the multiplayer. Story for number 3 was poorly executed and the multiplayer just didn't feel the same.
Gamespot features a good video of the 3 versions (PC/PS3/360) and to me the PC version is graphically richer, with 360/PS3 coming out about the same with the exception of screen tearing on the PS3.
Back that statement up as to be honest it screams of ignorance.
If and when I buy a Vita I will want to play games that are only available on the Vita and are not just ports or rehashes of games on the PS3. The reason I purchased a PS3 was for games like GT5, Uncharted, Heavy Rain and Killzone. The reason I purchased the 360 was for games like Gears of War, Forza and Halo. There are no real games on the Vita that I'm interested in that I cant already play on my big screen at home.
As for the Vita being portable its of little intere...
Are the framerate issues as noticeable as the review pointed out?
