Beat Turok 1 on Switch a year and a half ago, and yeah it totally sucks.
There's no story, no satisfying ending.
The boss strategies are all basically circle strafe and fire.
The levels are a confusing mess and take much longer to beat than necessary.
Collecting all the hidden items is a damn frustrating chore.
The music is so repetitive, I got extremely sick of it early on.
I'll say that the controls and speed is fantast...
I've played the game a lot. The online multi-player is good fun, but it gets repetitive quickly due to the lack of maps. For a game with micro-trash-actions, there is no excuse for the low number of maps to play in.
The single player on the other hand is awful. It's just nothing but grindy filler. Nothing special, interesting, or memorable happens. One plot twist that was okay, but not worth playing the game for.
The issue is that you must play lots...
I actually enjoyed Manhunt back on PS2. Never played the sequel, though.
I remember when there were rumors back when Rockstar revealed Table Tennis for 360, and how it wasn't actually a true retail game, but rather just a mini-game within GTA 4.
I gave up on the series after Odyssey. All grind and filler, nothing interesting. The combat was boring, the AI was trash, and the story wasn't worth a damn either. If Valhalla is anything like Origins and Odyssey, you wasted not only your currency, but the hours of your life playing a game that has no redeeming value.
Those developers need a break from first person grit shooters, I truly do feel bad for them. I hate the culture at these big publishing studios. Just keep milking their sub-par IPs indefinitely, Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed, EA and Sports games, it just goes on and on.
Look at what Kojima had to go through with MGS series. He wanted to leave as director since 2001, but kept getting dragged back into it for another 14 years! When he finally had enough, the president of K...
It's rare to see mods get shut down though, since it's not an actual independent unlicensed game. This is simply adding or alteration existing game code.
This is different from making a separate MGS game which has been shut down in the past.
Why can't Konami pull their heads out of their ass, become a good publisher again, and remake the old MGS games themselves (as well as port MGS 4 and add back in the cut content to current generation plat...
Beat it 4 times, it's really good and should have been ported to all platforms by now. There's no way the game has been profitable being just on Stadia.
The game does have one glitched Achievement which sucks though.
100% this! Gosh, this has been my stance for the last 8 years!
All the big publishers are so guilty of this. They purposefully create problems in their games, such as grinding for many hours to earn EXP in order to progress, or having to collect an absurd amount of resources in order to upgrade your town, equipment, or whatever else it may be.
Then they create the 'solution', micro-trash-actions, which of course requires payment. And finally they ...
My gosh, are you really pinning all your hopes onto a single game? You're setting yourself up for disappointment, because you refuse to learn from history.
I loved Halo 1 on Xbox, beat it three times. Its a fun game, that cut corners to meet the launch deadline, but it had a unique feel to it. Halo 2 was alright, Halo 3 was more of the same, Halo ODST I did not enjoy. Haven't played Reach, 4, or 5 yet.
But watching the footage of Halo: Infinite la...
This is a good list, so many great songs on those selected.
I said yesterday on N4G that the entire marketing team needs to be fired.
Since 2013 its felt like the marketing team is purposefully tanking their own company.
Spot on accurate. Some people here are so delusional that they don't even comprehend their own thought process. 😬
I bought an E3 Scalebound T-shirt off ebay last year. I love Platinum Games, and refuse to forget about it.
Just one of many legitimate reasons why Xbox has been a sinking ship since 2013.
They're a ship floating in the water with no direction. Terrible marketing staff (FIRE ALL OF THEM!), and executives that have no problem rushing out incomplete games (Crackdown, Sea of Thieves, ReCore).
All they've had to boast about for the past 2 years were teraflops. Just teraflops. Not game design, game mechanics, stories, characters, interesting worlds, well-polished titles. None of the stuff that actually matters. No simply, teraflops. And now we've seen ...
I like the term "Xdone" I may start using that. I'll always love Xbox (2001) and Xbox 360, but going forward, I am Xdone with Xbox.
Perhaps so, but they won't be making any money off me. Only a bunch of suckers who can't stop supporting the Xbox ecosystem due to ignorance, pride, or likely both.
100% this! You can't spin this into a positive light for me. What they tried to do was unacceptable, a double price increase on a subscription service?! What the hell were those executives thinking?! No, they are not the 'good guys' for reversing the decision, they are the bad guys for coming up with it in the first place.
If a criminal breaks into your house and steals your possessions but they get caught and willing give it back to you, they are still criminal...
No, its very clearly a Phil Spencer-ish move. He's been sinking the Xbox brand since 2014. Nothing new.
Wishing for a Klonoa 3 for so many years now.
I highly suggest the GBA games, and there's even Klonoa on the Wonderswan as well! Be sure to check them out. You can emulate Wonderswan no problem.
The only "new standard" Ubisoft is capable of accomplishing is concerning bland, boring, filler, grindy, generic, retread gaming.
